LA Fitness — Attraction in Lake Ridge

I attended this gym twice overall. The first time I had to cancel due to surgery which was okay but the second time was horrible. When signing up I spoke with Carlos a employee there that signed me up under friends and family where I wouldn’t have to pay the imitation fee as well since my first visit was cut short due to surgery which I paid last time for it. Come to find out I was charged the initiation through my bank where I just canceled my membership overall because I felt lied to. When I canceled my membership and money back from the initiation through my bank some of the front desk people said my membership was over which was not true because I paid first and last of a specific month so I still had some time left. They kept hassling me about it whenever I would come in but when I told them over and over what happen they would let me by. Unfortunately the second to last day of membership ending a lady that was a “manager” stopped me because I didn’t pay the initiation fee. She stopped me at the front and made me wait 10 minutes or more trying to explain myself that one of the club managers Carlos’s signed me up and I explained I had surgery where I paid already the initiation before. So they got money out of me in the beginning of the year. She was very rude and standoff ish where she told me Carlos didn’t work there anymore and he left before I signed up but he was the one that signed me up. I knew she was lying and I told her I’m not paying that amount because that wasn’t in my agreement. She kept me there standing while eveyone else checked in and said that she would let it slide this time but the next time someone will stop you. When I only had to days left of it. I explained this to a family member who spoke to Carlos on the agreement plan and they called La about suing the company where my family member had text messages of the arrangement of signing up. One of the other managers at the gym got a call from my family member that they were going to sue because they were trying to get more money out of me. The manger said that was no need to do that and basically everything got settled when court and suing was mentioned. I’ve been lifting since I was a teenager and this gym is one of the worst gyms I’ve been to on experience. The lady I spoke to didn’t care about the agreement I had with Carlos they just wanted more money out of me when I was already giving them around 70-80 dollars of first and end of month payments. On top of that I did the initiation fee beginning of the year first time. There are so many better options to go to other than this place trust me. I’ve never had a problem with a gym until this one and hopefully no one doesn’t have to endure what I went though...

After being a member at LA Fitness in Woodbridge for 8yrs we have now become members at Gold's Gym. A month ago my 6yr old son was wrestling playing with a 9yr old kid in the day care. I was told the 9yr old had a red mark on his forehead and the father was extremely enraged. My son has been going to this day care for 6yrs DAILY and when I'm in prep two to three times a day. Or if I go in the morning and my husband goes at night he is there two time a day for 6 yrs....his whole life. We have NEVER had any incidents with Isaiah at the day care EVER. Yet a week later with NO WARNING I received an email from LA that my son's membership was canceled. When i went to go speak to the new management the operations manager told me he didn't care how long we were members, didn't care how old my son was and didn't care period. It blows my mind that because my 6yr old was wrestling with a 9 yr old..My 6 yr old got exiled from the club after 6yrs of NEVER having an incident. They wrote lies about the incident in their system and when I confronted them WITH the daycare lady about what REALLY happened. Tyler, the operations manager insisted it didn't mattered and he was banned from the club. On top of all of this Tyler also printed out all of the other members info (address, phone#, etc.) and gave it to us. Thru all of this corporate offered us our membership back because of how unjustly the situation was...Yet no consequences to Tyler the operations manager for COMPLETELY screwing my family over. Corporate didn't even care Tyler gave me the other members PERSONAL information PRINTED OUT (st address and all...if we were bad people now I know where dude lives) I am extremely glad LA Fitness got their old general manager back because the new one had completely blew me off when I tried speaking to him about the matter. We are humble people and try to always find a solution. But in regards to LA Fitness and their new operational manager and how he completely screwed us over...We are now proud members of Gold's Gym and will take our loyal services there. Very disappointed. Tyler in operations is still there. No repercussions or...

Ok, so some of the equipment doesn’t work and needs attention, but they do address it. The one time I pointed it out the manager Zack quickly jumped to writing which ones down and getting a service ticket in. He’s also super friendly and he’s always got a smile (even when he’s running around). The people are AMAZING and that’s the reason we stay at this gym! The childcare was the initial reason we signed up (only 2 gyms offer it in our area) and Laura is the most caring, attentive childcare provider! My children know her by name and act up when she’s not working. I feel very comfortable leaving my children with her and relieved when I see she’s working! They probably don’t pay her enough and I know she manages more than the appropriate safe ratio of kids at times, but Thank God she’s there because she makes sure the kids are all safe (even when it’s crazy busy)! James is an angel! He’s the best physical trainer I’ve ever met! He genuinely cares about everyone at the gym and won’t let you hurt yourself! This is so critical because so many people don’t exercise correctly and he'll make sure you’re not going to get injured! In most gyms the physical trainers will walk right by you and if you’re not in a session they’ll let you hurt yourself if you’re exercising incorrectly. Because James won’t let you do that I feel good going to this gym and for the first time ever have thought about signing up for training because I know he will look out for me! The cleaning lady Maria is also incredible! I mean she always has a smile and I mean who does that while cleaning up after others? She’s got a huge area to cover and I’ve never seen her frown! Great team! Been going here for years and that’s really saying something because we’ve stayed here even when they had gross, old carpet. But now they have replaced the carpets (so much better) with nicer floors and installed...
