I booked a 60 minute makeup makeover for today. It was easy for me to schedule and book online. This is my first time wearing makeup and I am 37 years old. The reason why I decided to get this done for two reasons I am no longer working at warehouses so there is no need for me not wear something on my face to make myself look pretty. Second, I am starting a work from home job and I like to look presentable on these live webcam sessions. This is my first experience going in a retail makeup store to get this makeover done. I was nervous of how this experience would be. I was blessed to have someone professional, kind, and polite. I was introduced to man by the name Nigel Woods. When he greeted with a warm voice he made feel this was going to be easy smooth process. He was doing all of the hygienic policies they had to follow at Sephora. He showed me how to apply toner and makeup remover on my face before I apply my makeup. He showed step by step how to apply my foundation and concealer together on my T- zone area. He showed how to use brow gel and brush my eyebrows to make them bold. He showed me what different shades to blend together when it comes to my eyeshadow. Last, he showed how to apply setting powder and bronzer to my face to give my face that glow. He added a primer spray to finish my look. I was very happy with my final appearance and satisfied with his work. Read moreMixed experiences. Came in for an appointment to get a full face done. A guy in makeup greeted me and stated he’d be my makeup artist. After I told him what I wanted, he excused himself and another young lady appeared and stated she’d be my makeup artist. When I joked that the guy had abandoned me, she just giggled, but offered no explanation regarding the change. The guy walked around and saw me several times , never acknowledged me again.
I would chalk this up to just ignorance and unprofessionalism except this isn’t the first time something like that happened to me at this store. This leads me to believe it’s protocol and if so, that’s really bad habit/ policy. If you introduce yourself as the person who’ll be servicing someone and for whatever reason you change your mind, the very LEAST you can do is return to that customer and explain, and in turn, introduce your substitute. You’d think this would be common sense, but apparently not.
On the flip side, the people who have done my makeup in the past did a good job so the experience here isn’t all bad. Also, the store stays busy so apparently the inventory is adequate, and for the most part, the salespeople are polite.
Still, the customer service has been subpar and inconsistent to the point that if I can avoid coming here, I do. No one wants to go where their patronage doesn’t seem to be...

Throughout the process, the makeup artist provided helpful tips and advice, and was happy to answer any questions we had. She also provided product recommendations for my fiancé to use at home, which we greatly appreciated.
Overall, we were blown away by the level of service we received at Sephora. The free makeup services were an unexpected and wonderful bonus, and we both felt pampered and cared for throughout the experience. We left feeling confident and beautiful, and couldn't have been happier with the outcome.
