Unfortunately, I do not trust this place and am incredibly disappointed that they gaslit and lied to me. Then when they attempted to fix it all after - nothing was fixed.
From the top: Monday, I brought in my computer with two parts to be installed (AIO and Graphics) and then I brought in extra RAM with a note on the box saying to only install if my RAM was bad after running diagnostics and it was needed. I asked them to put it through the ringer and see whatever else was wrong with it because I was experiencing bad lag with windows/inputs and we were hoping these parts would fix it, but they might not. They said okay and it would take 24-48 hours. Ok.
3 hours later, I get a call that it's all done. Suspicious, I call. They say they installed all parts. So I ask if that means they found the RAM was bad. I was told "No, you brought in three parts so we installed three parts." When I explained what I had explained at the store in person, I was told that I never told anyone that I wanted testing nor the part about the RAM. It was literally written on the box and I did in fact say it at the store. They say they'll do the diagnostics.
Wednesday I get told I can pick it up. Great. I was told everything is good with it. Awesome. Finally. So I take it home and wait til the next day to plug it in. Thursday, I plug everything in, turn it on, and.... only one monitor works? That's weird. So I find out they never installed the graphics driver along with the graphics card. Well, that's odd considering I'm not sure how diagnostics was run without the computer knowing what graphics card it had. But whatever, I install it.
But my computer is still having the same issues as when I took it in. Then on Saturday, I realize the comp feels like it's putting a LOT of heat off. I open up HWinfo. My CPU, just by being on, no games or anything, is running at 100°C. It's throttling just because I powered it on. This is something that they would have seen if they had run diagnostics. So I call back and ask what readings they got on the diagnostics... only to be told that they didn't do any. They straight up held my computer for two extra days and didn't run any diagnostics, told me to my face that they did and results were good, and then tried to gaslight me again on Saturday when I asked by saying that I never asked for diagnostics so they never did any and that isn't part of their normal procedure. When I asked where the discrepancy between me asking for full diagnostics to be done, putting it through the ringer to test it, and them doing that was, I was told 'the interpretation of diagnostics' and that they just make sure it turns on and off again. That's all.
I ended up talking with people from two other stores (Tapestry and St. Aug who were both amazing, but unfortunately, the only place to get the comp taken care of was Orange Park.) They offered to look at it again. And at first I thought things would be better, and the tech guy this time was nice and friendly - however, my problem was never fixed and the heating problem was only bandaided. The fans in the computer were set to set speed instead of shifting dynamically with the computer in order to combat the heat. This made it incredibly loud and unbearable to use since it was loud at all times. Please note that I did not have any overheating issues until after I brought my computer to ubreakifix. And, my problem with the lag was still present and never fixed. I walked away from this place with more issues instead of less.
At this point, I didn't trust taking it back to that store and ubreakifix doesn't have any other stores in this region that service computers. Not only was it a 2 hour round-trip drive for me each time, but considering how I was heavily lied to and gaslit, I barely trusted them during the third return and I didn't want to have to make a fourth, fifth, and sixth potential go. I now had more problems than when I first went in and the original problem was never solved. I decided to eat $150 and go somewhere...
Read moreBeginning in May of 2024 I took my Dell desktop to uBreakiFix Orange Park Fla to fix a failed disk drive. The tech staff did an incredible job restoring my desktop to top working order. All files and apps were there ready to go. Recently my desktop dells drive failed once again. Once again on May 6 2025, I returned the same desktop to OP uBreakiFix expecting the same high quality service. I called the OP location on Thursday May 8 for a status and I was told the desktop should be ready in a day or two. On Saturday May 10 I received a call from uBreakiFix informing me that my desktop was fixed and ready for pickup. I asked how much the repair cost was and was told the work was covered on warranty at zero cost to me. I picked up the desktop and after getting the desktop reconnected to monitor and keyboard I quickly found all applications, user setups and program files were gone. I immediately contacted OP uBreakiFix and was told the repair was considered proper as uBreakiFix policy does not migrate applications, user setups and program files. After much frustration I explained to the uBreakiFix employee that the first repair in May 2024 included a mirror image from the bad drive to the new drive. I asked the rep to have the tech test the problem drive to see if files existed on that drive. He informed me that files could be seen on the drive. As an IT professional with well over 25 years working with global telecom clients such as AT&T, Verizon, and the Federal government, I am completely dismayed and disappointed at the inconsistent service I have experienced with uBreakiFix.
The current status of my desktop is that it was returned to me for all practical purposes in a useless state of disrepair.
I believe uBreakiFix has failed on to major points:
1). If a problem drive cannot be mirrored the customer should have immediately been notified.
2). Don’t hide bad news that the client needs to hear.
I can’t help feeling the true status of the repair was hidden from me until I found the actual status of the failed effort on uBreakiFix.
I am deeply disappointed in uBreakiFix.
PS. The single star evaluation is not correct. In order for me to post this response a single...
Read moreThe stock screen protector on my Galaxy Fold came off. Samsung offers a one-time warranty replacement at no charge and ubreakifix is listed as one of the repair facilities. I called to make an appointment and was told they didn't have any protectors for my phone and to call back the next week. The following Wednesday, I went to the store to make an appointment in person. The gentleman at the desk told me outright that they did not do screen protector replacements for the Fold series. I confirmed the store phone number, showed that I had called, and was told this location does, in fact, replace them. After checking the "the guys in the back" I was told they do replace them, but the guy who does it isn't in and will be back Monday. I say I'll call when he's there to make an appointment for when he'll be in. Call back Wednesday and speak with a gentleman with an Irish accent. Tells me he can do it Friday, but that it'll take an hour! (Paperwork, testing, something something... It's a screen protector. What kind of "testing" could be required outside of, 'Is it installed?') I resign myself to wait and make the appointment for Friday 4:30. Arrive Friday 4:15-ish, tell the guy at the counter I'm a little early, and he tells me there are NO appointments scheduled for that afternoon. (Even shows me the schedule on the computer.) He says it'll take 2 hours and, "You're better off coming back tomorrow." I ask if I can just BUY a screen protector from them and do it myself. "Oh, we can't sell screen protectors." In a last ditch effort to give uBreakiFix a chance to redeem the two weeks of my life they've wasted, I ask if the Irish gentleman I made the appointment with (and whom I assumed was the one who would install the protector) was in. "Oh, he's off today."
Basically, they spent two weeks plus telling me they didn't want to do business with me without...
