Ordered some furniture at the end of January. Part of the order was a dining room table and 4 chairs. They told me they only had 1 chair in stock and that they'd have to order the 3 other chairs and that they should be in by the end of February. February came and went. Nothing. I called and was told mid March. Came and went. Then I called after mid March, was told beginning of April. Same thing. Came and went. I called again. Was told mid April. Same thing. I called them last week and finally told them how frustrated I was with the situation. Was told that they were having a big shipment coming in on Friday and they'd call me Saturday to let me know if my chairs were in it. Low and behold, they didn't call me. I called them today and the guy said "Let me check on this. I'll call you back in 30 min." I express my concern that I wouldn't in fact be called back as I've been told that before and never received a call back. Low and behold, 30 minutes have come and gone and no call. I called back after an hour and got their voicemail. So, I left a message expressing my disappointment with their lack of customer service and lack of caring that I haven't received my 3 chairs after I ordered them over 3 months ago. I would never recommend this company to anyone else and strongly advise against even stepping in their doors. If you appreciate good customer service, this is NOT the place to go.
UPDATE: I finally received a call back from a lady saying they had my chairs and that they wanted to schedule my delivery date for Wednesday May 5th. I asked that since I was told originally that I'd have my chairs back at the end of February that I should get them sooner. She said they couldn't. I asked about their return policy. She said 72 hours. I haven't received my entire order, but they don't care. I argued with her for a bit demanding that they be delivered sooner only to be told that they actually don't have them, but rather, they're in Eugene. Not in the Coos Bay store as she originally said on the call. Finally got them to schedule the delivery of the 3 chairs for Monday May 3rd at 2pm. I highly doubt they'll keep their promise that I'll have my chairs delivered by Monday. I've totally lost faith in Rife's furniture. I will never purchase...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreApril of 2020 I bought a reclining couch and loveseat from Rifes in Eugene OR. Our local Rifes was closed due to the pandemic, but the Eugene Rifes worked with me over the phone to find the couch I needed. I paid about $1800 for the set. The Eugene Rifes was a delight to deal with and ensured me I could have the couch serviced by any Rifes. They delivered it and set it up and within two weeks one side of the love seat began to appear like it was falling off or disconnecting from the other side. I called the Coos Bay Rifes, they sent someone out and had them reconnect it and left. But we quickly noticed that it had been hanging for so long that when you reclined it, it was clunking and the left back of the cushion is sinking. They have been sending technicians to my house 6-7 times over the past year to fix the couch to no avail. Eventually, they took that half of the couch to Rifes to work on it, leaving exposed metal bars where the base of the couch connects to the other half on my floor. After taking it they called and notified me that they need another new part and it would be a bit before it came. They gave me no timeline. After about three weeks of exposed metal bars on my floor and only half a couch, i called and discovered there wasn't even an ETA on my part and they have clue when it will be here. Ive opted to just get the other half of my couch back and be done with it for now. I now have a couch that requires you to shove a large pillow in to the back left corner of it in order to not sink and end up sitting on the wood framing. Rifes has offered me nothing to make the situation right, even after dealing with them for over a year. I highly encourage you to look elsewhere for your furniture purchases. Coos Comfort Furniture in Coquille is great, and they deliver to Coos Bay! The mattress BoxDrop is also great, very easy to work with and decently priced. Rife's seems to be like really expensive versions of Big Lots furniture. But I think you'd get better customer service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were assisted with purchasing a bed in the store by the manager and also a lady who were both great. The rest of our experience was terrible. I had a delivery day scheduled that I had to reschedule because our home purchased was delayed. I called to reschedule and a different man answered the phone, he informed me that he didnāt have any openings until the Next week and said ā look I know it sucks , but it is what it isā as true as that may be thatās HORRIBLE customer service I explained that we did have a previous appointment scheduled and that I was keeping them updated on the status of our delivery and that we wouldnāt have a bed to sleep in for a week. He absolutely did not care. It was apparent in his tone and word choice. A real company would have tried to accommodate us. Also the guy who called me about the delivery was very short in tone and did not have good phone presence. He cut me off a few times saying Iāll give you a call when weāre finished and also snapped at me because my phone was apparently cutting out. There was quite a bit of debris from packing left under the bed which I can clean up but it reflected sloppy work. He was obviously in a hurry. Besides the manager and the woman at the desk the staff is in need of some serious customer service training and a reminder to be compassionate even if itās just a job to you. Customers are also prompted to fill out a review where youāre given several options to do so the final option being that if youāre unsatisfied to contact the company directly. I feel like this is a sneaky way of keeping negative reviews off of public sites as to not defer potential...
