Darrell’s Devils Food Llc — Restaurant in Coos Bay

I'm a pizza freak... I have driven 8 hours just to go to my favorite Pizza Parlor in California. Some people consider themselves "Pizza Aficionados"... I believe I have reached beyond that point in my life. I am somewhere between "Pizza Black Belt" and "Pizza Ninja". There are sooo many varieties and qualities of pizza and often when we're trying a new place, my wife and I discuss the qualities the pizza possesses... Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings and also important is appearance. I stopped in at Darrell's Devil's Food and ordered the Motor City Pizza. While It was being made I perused the display cases and they were full of artisan tasty treats, breads and even a nice little beer and wine selection...

Now back to the pizza. I would love to compare it's qualities to one of the hundreds of pizzas I've had, but I can't. Its definatly pizza yet it's crust is unique, crispy outside, soft inside and best of all it really hits the spot. The sauce, cheese and toppings are also unique, a triple blast of well crafted flavor and texture.

Quality, Artisan Pizza! I can't remember the last time I was this excited about pizza!

Darrel is amazing 😉! When I got my favorite garden veggie pizza it didn’t get my favorite toppings, I went back to let him know & he fixed it right away! I can’t believe he even return my $ I told him I just needed the usual toppings he made that was so very yummy! (when my dear friend treated me there for my Valentine bday) ~ he gladly returned my money & fixed my favorite pizza!

One time, I proudly brought my kids from out of town to introduce them he found out I was in a stage play that night, he just spontaneously gave me some incredible macaroons for goodluck!

We went there with a family for some dessert, both Shanan & Darrell just chatted with us so pleasantly & took our pictures.

Food is delicious. However, I was inquiring about a wedding cake one day when we came in. We were told to call in and make an appointment as they were fairly busy that day. We called and made a (sort of) appointment but were told to come in before 10am or after 2pm on a Saturday. We called the day of just to make sure. He wasn't going to be in until later and said he would call, no call. We called back and were told that we would have to just come in between such and such hours and the days they were open...we did that to begin with and said we needed to make an appointment.
