It all started in the morning. Went to hobby town. and bought M41 traxas boat. My son and I was excited They sold us a charger 2 batteries battery tester They definitely did their job they got $745.00 I went home my son and I unwrapped it. the batteries out of Box and charger and charged it. We put it in the water. Get ready to drive. it Not even 2 minutes of drive time. It went up and smok. I called hobby town they said no problem When did you buy it I told them yesterday. Not even 24 hours .come down we'll take a look at it . I drove down there and show them they took off the Top lid smelt the motor and speak control they Send Wow . They inspected it and found out the motor was no good had too much enplay. And then they told me there's nothing that they can do. I will have to take care of myself and call traxas. They told me they didn't Have anything to replace it They still had 3 brand new ones up on the shelf. I thought I should tell everyone Just make sure you pay attention where you buy stuff. They Don't stand behind their stuff anymore. They have no problem selling it to you .The problem is the managers are too young And don't know how . customer service works If this matters I'm a 44 old man and I used to race RC boats at lake lak California. And if anybody knows a good hobby shop in riverside California Thank you.

Wow! This place has a little bit of everything with a lot of R/C stuff. Please see the 50+ pictures and videos in my review, including the update section. * Anime stuff and action figures * Hot Wheels, M2 Machines, and more * RC airplanes, helicopters, and boats * RC cars and trucks * A lot of train stuff, including tracks * Spare parts for so many hobbies * Great RC selection * Puzzles, games, and many toys * RC Flight simulator in the back (free use) * Model car kite of different skill levels * Slot cars and parts, including tracks * Paint, brushes, polish, decals, and more * Booklets, diorama supplies, and more I went specifically to check out some Hot Wheels and some diorama figures. They had more than just Hot Wheels. Everything was organized, and the establishment was clean. The staff asked if we needed help, so I appreciated that. Near the entrance on the inside is a table with different information people might find interesting. PLEAAE SEE THE UPDATE SECTION for details. I posted some pictures. If you're into RC cars, then you should stop by. I'm not good at knowing prices for that, so I can't comment on it. But it was a good visit with so much more to see other than what I mentioned. Thank you. Homie-G out.

So the boys and I embarked on a little adventure on their first day of spring break and decided to make the trek to Hobby Town in Corona. Let me tell you, this place is not exactly around the corner - it's a whopping 198 miles from our house! But hey, we were determined to find some specific items for our Tamiya 4wd cars. After checking out their website, which boasted a ton of stuff at this location, we were pumped to see what they had in store. Unfortunately, when we got there, all they had were motors. Bummer, right? But fear not, the staff came to our rescue. They were super helpful and friendly, even though they hadn't seen Tamiya parts in years. They explained that the site was run by corporate and they could potentially ship out from their warehouse. On the bright side, if you're into RC parts, RTR builds, or HO and N scale trains, this place is a goldmine. So while our Tamiya dreams were dashed, we still had a blast exploring Hobby Town's offerings. Who knew a failed mission could still be so entertaining?

Horrible Customer Service at HobbyTown in Corona

I recently visited HobbyTown in Corona to pick up a small item and was appalled by the customer service. Upon entry, I was ignored. After an employee named Chris finished with another customer, I walked with him, expecting assistance, but was still ignored. Instead of acknowledging me, Chris chose to vacuum and avoid eye contact.

When he finally approached, I asked for a specific item, mentioning the brand name and title. Unprompted, he began lecturing me on the mechanics of an RC car, despite having no information about my needs. When I explained I didn’t need a lesson, just the item’s location, he continued lecturing and questioning my purpose, despite knowing only the term “spur gear.”

I pointed out the absurdity of our conversation, emphasizing that I just needed the item’s location. Chris responded with a condescending look and continued talking down to me, as if I was going to ruin something. He then vaguely pointed to the general area, refusing to walk me to the item.

A helpful woman assisted me after I explained the strange interaction with Chris. Then, a third employee approached, asking about my use of the grease and why I needed it. For a $2 item, I faced bad service, sarcastic responses, and unnecessary lecturing. Despite knowing exactly what I wanted, it took three employees and numerous questions to get the item.

If you want to be talked down to by Chris and receive a look of pity while asking for a $2 item, this is your place. All Chris had to do was walk me to the item and ask about my project and goals. Instead, they lost a customer before I even got started, potentially losing $3k a year in business. This experience highlights why people prefer YouTube videos and Amazon orders.

Ironically, my friend warned me that hobbyists could be pretentious. This stereotype was unfortunately accurate in this situation. Beware of Chris at...
