The Delaware Antique Mall — Attraction in Delaware

This is an annual stop when visiting relatives for Thanksgiving. Nice variety of items and fair prices for the area. Ive always left with at least a few items, usually quite a lot! Not always easy in that part of the country. I truly wish I could give a better rating. BUT! This year I was barely able to spend any time there and had to rush through it. They were burning some candle that had either been burned over and over or it was a manufacturing flaw! It was in your face burnt sugar and something. It stunk! I can't imagine that it would have been an improvement over anything you might want to cover up with it. I put on a mask and it did not help. It was very uncomfortable in there. I mentioned it to the person i was with and other people commented that it was bad as well. i told them at the desk that I would wait outside while they totalled the items I bought and the lady at the counter made a remark that I was overreacting and that no one else complained. Maybe not, because people tend not to say anything, but she didn't say anyone complimented it, either! Truly, there are many people who are sensitive to scents and I am not usually, but am on occasion. I had a headache from it that lasted for hours. This was the worst I ever experienced and way worse than the laundry soap aisle at Walmart. Stick with antiques and leave the scented candles to Yankee Candles and the other places that sell them or at least break out a fresh one! If you are sensitive to scents or don't like things that stink, stay away! I'll visit next year with a better mask but hope they have gone back to only selling antiques and collectibles. I hope the dealers there aren't losing out on sales because of this because they have some nice things and it's generally a clean...

This is quite frankly a horrible establishment. I have never been to a business and been treated as horribly as these staff members treated me (and reading other reviews, it seems like this is a very common occurrence). Walking in, my boyfriend and I walked over to a booth where there was an abundance of tools and he started looking around in that area. I ventured off and walked to a neighboring booth where I was met with a very much so alive/ massive cockroach. Walking back to where my boyfriend was, an older staff lady was very obviously taking trying to take a video of us and proceeded to almost pace right beside us and stare us down the whole time we were in that section. After this we continued walking around the store where they constantly have staff members pacing around to keep an eye out on people and collect things to put in bins (which is semi- reasonable as it does take the load off when carrying a bunch of stuff and gives them an opportunity to make sure no one’s stealing, but is nonetheless creepy). Later on we approached the counter to drop something off to said bin and the employee was incredibly rude and snarky with us. This place needs some major help/ needs to add basic costumer service skills as a requirement on their employees resumes because this was a horrible experience and it seems like they don’t know how to accept this fact or how to take any criticism based on their replies to other people who have had bad experiences as they just seem to turn the blame around on the costumers and evade taking responsibility for any of...

If I could give less stars I would. Staff is rude, follows you around and wants to take any bag you have except women with purses... Because apparently you cant steal unless your bag is a tote or a shopping bag from another store. The man that works there is creepy and makes it worse by following women around the store, which I get it's for loss prevention but maybe don't glare at women and make it so obvious that you looking at them. This place should be shut down just for the way it's ran. I seen the post about they don't want merch stolen... Do you think any other store wants things stolen?... It's the risk you take when you have a business, taking peoples property/bags just to look around a store is nuts to me and just about every other normal person. 10/10 would never suggest anyone going to this place.... Suggestion would be, if you're going to have someone follow women around the store, maybe get someone who doesn't look like they are up to...
