They usually do a good job. Usually pretty clean. Usually pleasant. A couple people remembered my name. They definitely charge a premium here. A few times I've had trouble with color matching on hands and feet. They say they have the same color but they don't have dip matching regular polish. This happened a few times. I was disappointed they didn't match but no big deal. I always tipped generously. Why the bad review: At the holidays I wanted metallic silver nails, a very fine metallic. It was more expensive because it took longer, which was fine with me. The problem was that the tech left these bubbles over a few of my nails and the metallic really showed it. You could see the bumps under the metallic. I guess she didn't really know how to do it well. She seemed to have a little conniption fit when I asked her to redo it. I very nicely asked her and honestly I was surprised that she didn't see it herself. She was the one doing it, not me! The management acted like it was a huge problem that I asked them to fix it. Then a different tech brought it up again one other time when I went back! So apparently they all gossip too. He said you complain a lot. Thanks for letting me know lol. No, I didn't complain a lot, because they usually do a beautiful job. During 50+ visits- I did ask them to fix a few things. Why the pushback and the fit and the gossip? Nobody's perfect and that's okay. Also, I don't want to get my nails done by a tech who is coughing, sneezing and sniffing non-stop right in front of me during this post COVID era. That's just gross. Having a mani pedi is supposed to be pleasant. You try to stay healthy and then in close contact with a very sick tech!! Yes, I remember his name too. If you charge more, then give better service. There is an attitude problem here. I run big projects with items of detail and I am always trying to please every customer I have. Want to complain about your customer? Ok, then no...
Read moreAs a local, I've been going to Venetian for years. I used to go to the Fort Lauderdale location and now the Linton location after moving to Delray. My nail tech is normally Jack, who's amazing, but he was off today and I desperately needed my nails done.
I initially showed the tech dip color "005," which was a light pink. After she painted a sample, it was too light, almost white. I explained I was looking for a brighter pink and decided on color "050." As she began, I noticed that it also looked much lighter than the sample but I assumed it was the color I asked for and after a few coats it would be brighter.
When she was nearly finished, I noticed that the jar of dip was labeled "05" and I remembered the color I selected was "050." I then realized she grabbed the wrong color. Sure enough, after she finished I looked at the color swabs and my nails matched the "005" swab, not "050" I had asked for... if their numeric labels weren't nearly identical, maybe they wouldn't run into this problem?
I understand mistakes happen, but rather than acknowledge it and offer a small discount for the miscommunication, the nail tech wanted to argue with me. Then she brought the manager over, who sided with her and insisted that I should have told her when she started my nails. But the first layer of dip almost never looks the same as the third! And when I tried to explain the manager literally walked away while I was mid-sentence and sent another employee to cash me out.
I now understand all of Venetian's negative reviews since not all nail techs (or managers) are created equal. I'm giving 2 stars only because Jack is amazing- but I'm so uncomfortable with the way this was handled that unfortunately I'll be finding a new nail salon. If you go, make sure to ask for Jack and don't waste your time on argumentative employees with no listening skills or...
Read more1 STAR TO GIVE ATTENTION to the poor POOR SERVICE. Delray Location: I was serviced by the same nail tech “Lisa” for over 6 months. She moved so I tried nail tech Ivy, recommend by mgmt. Ivy was told Gel Nail pedicure, complete only 1 nail refill, file square nail coffin shape and the basic pedicures service. End of my service I needed to request Ivy clean up her work around the base of my nails (Not Neat or even line base of nails) and improve the nail shape as requested earlier. PICS: my cuticle was not cleaned under as you can see the darkness around nail edges. Charged $64.00 for 2 refills not approved as well Ivy lied that she refilled 2 nails when I saw ONLY 1 nail refilled that I approved. Ivy never showed or asked me if I wanted another nail refill. I need ONLY 1 refill. Mgmt was rude, escalated the situation and stated that their former employee Lisa, she did me a favor. Which I was not PREVÉ to as I was a repeat customer at Venetian’s and always paid pedicure $54.00 and gave a $10.00 tip to Lisa each visit. Since management nor Ivy could explain HONESTLY why my price increased. Other than stating their former employee, Lisa was charging me incorrectly. Mgmt was present at every payment at end of past nail services. So am I to Believe they turned a blind eye while she charged me for less I don’t think so. I agreed to paying $59.00 only so I could leave, clearly this is a past practice (price increase for past same services). Venetian appears to be a struggling business. Many of the pedicure chair were out of service (one was next to me) as well low client traffic at the time of my visit (4:00 - 5:30 pm) . Ivy received zero gratitude. Told the mgr - try to have a good day. I won’t be returning. Too many OTHER nail salons to choose from. SO GOOD...
