Negligent staff that absolutely refused to take any kind of accountability over an issue as simple as the hot water being out, saying first you have to let it run for awhile then switching their story and saying it'll be looked at in the morning, then saying there's nothing they could do and it's a building maintenance issue and on and on with random, dismissive excuses trying to get me out the door and meanwhile neither of the staff behind the counter made the slightest attempt to actually go and check to see for themselves that the hot water was out. I had just upgraded my membership and couldn't believe this was the service I was getting. I attempted to contact corporate on their website and didn't even get a response. I called and spoke with the so called manager the next day, he sounded like an arrogant young kid and was even more dismissive than his staff, stating there is no issue with their facilities and I'm the only one that's complained about it implying that I'm the one with the problem. I was shocked. I wrote a cancelation request to my "home gym" location in Omaha, NE and after it was received I was emailed a confirmation of cancelation with a zero balance since my membership was paid in advance, then a day later they pulled their regular monthly fee from my bank. When I called the home gym location and confronted them about this they stated this fee was still processing at the time of cancelation and it would allow me access for an additional month, but they would not retract it, refund it or look into it further. I have been a paying member, with monthly dues withdrawn from my bank account without failâyet suddenly, I am being told I owe a nominal balance of $20 from over a year ago. Because of this supposed balance, I am now being denied access to the facility, despite them continuing to charge me every single month.
If there was truly an outstanding balance, why was it never communicated to me before? Why was I not notified at the time instead of being blindsided after over a year of uninterrupted payments? And most importantlyâhow is it ethical for them to take my money every month while refusing to let me use the gym?
To make matters worse, when I asked for contact information for management or corporate, I was completely shut down. The staff refused to provide any way to escalate my issue, making it clear that they have no intention of resolving this fairly. Itâs beyond frustrating to be caught in a billing scam with no accountability from the people in charge.
This is shady, misleading, and frankly, terrible customer service. No reasonable business should continue charging a customer while simultaneously blocking them from using what theyâre paying for. I will be reporting this issue further if it is not resolved immediately.

I called planet fitness to cancel and the guy up front told me basically thatâs too bad and I still have to come in to cancel, I explained how is it my fault for the mistake YOUR employee made. They agreed to cancel it over the phone and when I asked for a refund for the previous month they told me no. I asked to speak to the manager and they were rude and aggressive.
