I think your experience in this place is dependent on which server you get.
We were seated by a gentleman pretty promptly after he cleaned off a booth table for us. The booth we sat in looks like it hadn't been updated since the 80s. It looked tired, dirty and worn.
We get our menus and start perusing. I'd say we were sitting there close to 10 minutes and no one had come to even take our drink order. Finally, a woman brought us some waters. No greeting, no smile, no nothing. So, I thought she was the water girl. Meanwhile, two guys had been seated a few feet away. They had a different server and already had their drinks and appetizers. Our server was MIA, or so I thought. It turns out "water girl" WAS our server. She just shows up and says, "are you ready?" Up to that point, I had no idea she was our waitress. We put in our order.
The food came out fairly quickly. I had agedashi tofu and clear soup for appetizers. The tofu was ok, nothing special. Didn't knock my socks off, or anything. The soup was nice and hot, the way I like it. I ordered the Ichiban roll. It was tasty.
In the meantime, the guys that walked in after us were paying for their meal while we were still eating. I watched the other server serve them and he was on point. Our server never even checked in to see how we were doing or if we needed our waters refilled. She only showed up to give us the check That was it. Barely said two words to us.
A note about the restaurant condition. This place charges a lot for its sushi, as though they were located in a high end shopping plaza. Well, they aren't. The place is in desperate need of a cleaning and a makeover. No, I take that back... overhaul.
Our booth was next to a window and the window sills were caked in dirt and food debris. It was disgusting. They have an area to the right of the main entrance that looks like a multipurpose area, functioning as an office, a cashier station and some kind of merchandising area. There are papers stuck to a bulletin board all over the place. It's just ugly.
That being said, while the food was decent, I wouldn't come back. The restaurant feels tired and outdated and the prices are too high. If I'm going to pay that much for sushi, I want a clean restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Next time we'll go...

Osaka Sushi is a huge winner in the sushi department for having an amazing selection of rolls, reasonable prices, beautiful presentation, and awesome desserts!
Had the opportunity to finally check out Osaka Sushi after a friend of mine raved so much about it. I may be weird, but I actually love fruit in or on top of my sushi so whenever I'm at a new sushi place I scan the menu for a) rolls with any fruit like mango, strawberry, or kiwi, b) spicy rolls with spicy salmon or tuna, and then c) tempura rolls. Osaka Sushi has a great selection and some very unique rolls as well.
I ordered the tropicana roll and ichiban roll which satisfied my fruity and spicy sushi cravings, respectively. The tropicana roll is one of their newer rolls and includes shrimp tempura, crab meat, cucumber, kiwi, kiwi sauce, tempura flakes, and red tobiko. The ichiban roll is shrimp tempura & crab meat topped with spicy tuna, spicy mayo, and sweet eel sauce. My friends ordered the avalanche roll, oh baby roll, and two others that I don't remember the name of. The avalanche has baked salmon, crab, shrimp tempura.
Oh my goodness, I absolutely loved the ichiban, tropicana, and avalanches rolls! The two other rolls I tried were also great. Despite being fairly full, of course we had to try dessert.
I ordered the berry paradise cheesecake, while our friends had the tempura ice cream and creme brulee. All of the desserts were beautifully presented, with beautiful plate art. Not only beautiful, but they were also delicious. I love the care in the presentation that Osaka delivers for both their sushi and desserts!
Friendly staff, plenty of seating. Five stars! Definitely one of my favorite sushi restaurants - wish...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEverything was top-notch. I dropped in on Friday for an early dinner with 3 friends. Two of us had been there before and they raved about the food and they weren't wrong. The 4 of us shared the Sashimi B (medium, 24 very generous pieces of sashimi) and 5 maki rolls. We had talked about sharing a udon at the end of the meal but we were too full when we were done. The food really is something to write home about. The sauces on the maki rolls were well balanced with the ingredients and I felt like I could keep stuffing my face. The sashimi was some of the freshest I have had and the wasabi was nice and strong. I've been to Japan and lived in east Asia and lived on the Midwest, east and west coasts of the US and I can honestly say their sashimi rivals some of the best I've had, and truly impressive for a landlocked state. We rounded out the meal with the mochi ice cream dessert. The owner greeted us at the door and when asked, recommended 3 of our maki choices. He looked like he was friendly with his customers and kept a roving eye on both rooms. Our server looked like a cute high school kid getting used to his new height who was courteous and attentive. He refilled our waters and checked in on us several times to make sure we were doing alright. Food and service and friendly atmosphere...
