DO NOT SHOP HERE! Buyer beware. This organization is a complete mess. I came in to buy a couch - was ready to make the purchase but unfortunately they didn't have the item in stock. The sales rep had no idea on how to get one ordered, how long it would take, what shipping would cost, etc. so we decided to just go onto their website and order it ourself.
I received confirmation of my order via email and was provided tracking. Tracking was never updated. I figured with COVID, things are tough, so I was patient and waited. 3 weeks later, still no tracking update, still no couch. I emailed the company for an update on my order and shockingly, I receive a phone call shortly after saying they are ready to deliver the couch. I scheduled delivery for a few days out and was told they would call me when they were on the way.
No call was ever made on delivery day, the driver just showed up at my door. Only one person came to deliver the couch, so I had to carry the items myself with him despite having a knee and hip injury. The delivery driver couldn't speak english and was rude right out the gate. He was mad that the front door to my condo building doesn't open without a key fob or getting buzzed in. Had he actually read the instructions on the door he could have been buzzed into my building, instead he tried pulling the door open and thankfully he didn't break the door.
The couch was delivered (2 separate boxes because it is a sectional). I went back to work and then opened the boxes that night after work. Unfortunately they sent me two love seats instead of the actual couch I ordered. I immediately reached out to the company via email and called the next morning. I was clear with them that I would prefer that they come and deliver the actual couch and remove the wrong items. I live in a small 1BR condo and these couches were taking up half of my living room space.
I spoke with a number of reps and each time I received a different answer. First it was 3-5 business days to pick up the wrong items, then another 3-5 business days after that to send out the correct item. I told them this was unacceptable because I can barely move in my condo with these two love seats and boxes sitting in my living room. I then spoke with a different rep, who told me the shipping company would call me shortly to arrange pickup that day to get the items out of my house. That never happened. So I called back again and requested a supervisor to call me. I was "guaranteed" a call back within 2 hours. That never happened either. At this point I was extremely frustrated and it was getting late in the day. I called again, spent about an hour getting to a "higher level" supervisor. She told me the earliest pickup would be about 5 days out. I then asked for her supervisor to call me. That never happened. But I did receive an email saying they resolved the issue by emailing me Fedex labels and told me to bring the items to a local Fedex store. Mind you, these are both 50lb love seats no longer in the packaging. Not only am I injured, but I live alone and have no means to carry these gigantic items to a store miles away. They also offered to reimburse my initial shipping fee, which was irrelevant because shipping was free anyway. The pointless emails went back and forth, with more promises about phone calls from supervisors and resolving the issue within 24 hours. None of this ever happened.
I still have these two love seats in my condo and there is no timetable as to when they can remove them and refund my money.
I just want everyone to know how poor their customer service is. I understand that errors occur, but attention should be taken to resolve them. Very little care was shown, I was just bounced around to different reps, and each time was given a different answer.
I tried calling their corporate office as a last resort, and all I got was a recording saying "our corporate office will be closed for the next few weeks". I still have the two love seats in my condo and they still...

On Friday, Oct. 6, 2023 around 11:10 a.m. I stopped in to browse and kill some time before I could check into my hotel. Since I had a long weekend due to the holiday, I decided to do a getaway to Denver. I thought my trip was off to a great start by randomly running across a World Market, which has been one of my favorite stores to shop for 10+ years. I was even more happy because the store happened to be playing a song by one of my favorite jazz singers Billie Holiday. I was feeling in a state of serendipity!
However, as I’m browsing I keep sensing that staff are purposely walking past me. Or sudden have things to do in my vicinity.
It happened in the bath/home section, while I walked down towards the furniture and lamps, and then especially when I got to the international food and snack section. I get over there and then a taller guy with a mustache (I believe) hurriedly walks past me not once but twice. When I finally got to the chocolate section I spot what I hoped was in stock and as soon as I picked it up and turned around a woman on crutches was staring in my face while pretending to organize a shelf. She gave a nervous laugh and at that point I knew I was being “followed.”
And by the way I was the only Black person in the store.
By now I’m upset but continue to browse a little more on my way to checkout. Turn around and guess who happens to be nearby again? The guy from before. Even when I was standing in the checkout lane he was still “vested” in me which I could tell by the positioning of his body language…towards my direction.
I was there for 15 minutes and despite SEVERAL staff members passing me by not a single one opened their mouth to say hello or ask if I needed help. NO ONE.
Even the cashier who was called over to help looked past me and assumed an older white lady next to me was next in line.

I ordered something online for pickup at this location late afternoon Wednesday. If you have ordered pickup from world market they give you an estimated time before you check out like “pick up today!” And then after purchasing they’ll send you updated emails with an exact time. Waited until 7 pm which is when I called and a very sweet girl answered explaining how they’re short staffed and it’s been a hectic day and they were simply not able to get to my order but expect it to be ready by tomorrow. No biggie I get it. Next day comes and goes, still nothing. I was busy that day so I thought not a big deal, it SHOULD be ready by Friday. Friday rolls around and I wait until a little before noon to see if I get any updates. Still nothing, still says order is not ready for pickup. I call and the employee who answers, I won’t name names, explains that they were just about to call me to tell me they have run out of the single product I ordered for pickup several days prior. Says all they can do is cancel my order. Super unhelpful and I also used a one time use coupon on my order. This is the first time I have ordered pickup from world market, I do not recommend.
