My wife and I first began attending New Denver Church in January 2018. In the three years since, we have listened in on numerous sermon series, joined a few semester long small groups, volunteered with partner non-profits, journeyed off on weekend retreats, and attended one time special events on marriage/enneagram types/etc. We have made close friends and gotten to know leadership on a first name basis.

Two words that come to mind when thinking about New Denver Church are authentic and welcoming. Authentic in believing and leading people to a growing relationship with Christ but recognizing people are coming from all different backgrounds and experiences and that the church doesn't necessarily have answers to every tough question out there. Welcoming in terms of friendly faces on Sunday morning and numerous opportunities to get involved and build community.

From a Sunday sermon standpoint, they do a good job of balancing going line by line through a tough text (the last sermon series was titled "You Lost Me at Leviticus") with more topical discussions (we are now starting a series on the five Love Languages). I also very much appreciate hearing from different pastors on Sunday mornings. While the head pastor Norton preaches ~50%, the other 50% is split among others on the leadership team. In attending numerous churches throughout 20+ years of regular church attendance, I have noticed it is often easy to become enamored by one lead pastor's style, eloquence, point of view, etc. By having a healthy amount of rotation among pastors on Sunday mornings, the focus remains on falling more in love with Jesus, as it should be. Love God....

A great church with a great mix of pastors, members and overall community. Two of the lead pastors come from Andy Stanley's church in Atlanta and moved to Denver to execute their vision for what an in-town church could be. So, they are well traveled and experienced pastors who do a great job of building a warm community, and most importantly, delivering great messaging that challenges you on an individual level. I find their teaching and messaging approach to be Socratic in nature in that you find yourself being asked a lot of questions. This causes you to dig within yourself, which ultimately, is the only way people's life of faith can be moved (just my opinion!) - through their own discovery, and this community does a great job of nurturing this journey for people of all backgrounds and regardless of where people are in their walk with God.

The church is smaller and intimate, but if you are looking for nice people and a great message that causes you to ask questions of yourself, this is a...

We have been attending this church for almost 14 years now and can say that this isn't like any other church I've ever attended. Some Sunday mornings they rock the seven piece band so you know the music is good but mostly it is the message. The pastors are very smart and have the ability to unpack weekly messages from scripture in an accessible and meaningful way. They take the time to explain what the passage meant in the original language in which it was written and why it was written that way based on the socioeconomic and political influences at the time it was written. I always leave the service feeling inspired, loved and smarter.

I'm from the south and never was a "church goer", having spent much of my youth watching people use the church as a way to segregate people and use the bible as a weapon. For this group of pastors, the elders, the leaders and this congregation to craft a community that is honest, welcoming, humble, inclusive and trustworthy for me.... that's...
