I could not believe the treatment my mother and I received in this particular store which was one that I was always attracted to and walked past almost a daily in walking dogs. I was looking to see if there were any unique gifts and I wanted to see if local artists were selling their wares at this particular boutique. The brand new assistant greeted us in a timely fashion and that was the only good thing. The girl when I asked her about the history of wish she had no clue and said that she was new and then when I asked other questions she just said I don't know I I don't know and then the other assistant who was in when I asked if they were hiring she said oh well we're taking applications but made it perfectly clear that a 50-year-old woman was not welcome to apply for a job. And then both of them ignored us as we wandered through the shop which we were there for 10 minutes. Because I did not like the energy and neither did my mom and I will not be going back to that store. I guess I thought it being a boutique that people would care more for their clients. however my experience at the other wish on Gaylord Street was very different and I am going to review that place. So go to the one on Gaylord they're...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal supporter of this shop for a long time - almost every baby shower and kid under 10 present, plus others, has come from here for the last 10+ years because I want to “shop small.” I have appreciated the curated nature of the shop and recognize they have many local suppliers as well. I’ve always used their bags to give my gifts so it drives business to their store (and it has).
However, I think today may be the last time I shop there. While completing my purchase (which was coincidentally large) I asked, with some urgency, to use their restroom. I was directed to go to the restaurant next door. I even asked whether [restaurant] would let me use it if I wasn’t a customer, and the manager unironically said “oh yes they do.” I get you don’t necessarily have a public bathroom, but you can’t make the occasional case by case exemption? As well as instead put a burden on your neighboring small business and embarrass a customer in the process?
UPDATE: Less than a few hours the shop’s owner reached out with a heartfelt apology and promise to work with their team for a better outcome in future situations. Much...
Read moreIt’s definitely a cute shop if you need a quick gift on the way to a party, baby shower, bridal shower, graduation. But way overpriced. You can find a jar of matches in there for $35.00, on amazon or target for $5-$10. A children’s book for $50- yes $50. Ridiculous. Cute boutique but way too overpriced.
Update: love supporting local! Can totally find these similar products at Amazon and target so I went ahead and sourced the similar if not very products from Etsy, half the price, handmade, & customizable. I still can’t justify a $50 book or a $35 mini jar of matches. Again- cute! But not budget friendly. Caters to a certain...
