I’m a regular at Nurture and while I like the space, the cafe’s food and service are inconsistent. Many times I've asked about ingredients and have received the wrong info. Thankfully I'm not allergic to anything. I know this is a new-ish establishment, and we’re in the middle of a pandemic, so have chalked up the mis-info to new or undertrained staff. (However, I've worked in the service industry and know training staff is key for success, and easy to do.) But this is not why I’m writing a review. I love the Chicken Masala Dosa and decided to order for my husband and myself for lunch today. Usually, I’m unable to finish the portion, but today the two portions are so small we have to supplement our meal. It looks as if one portion was divided into two to go containers. I'm extremely disappointed that I paid double for one portion. The dish is already priced high, but with the portion cut, it's ridiculously overpriced. Not sure if this is a one time mistake or if the portions have been truly cut in half, but I won't be ordering from Nest again. The lack of knowledge from the staff, while inconvenient, was not as hard to swallow as the portion change, but it does add to my overall disappointment. We should be able to count on consistency when it comes to food and service in any given restaurant/cafe, but especially at an establishment like Nest at Nurture. It has become too much of a gamble for me to wonder what I'll be given each time I order. I’m truly saddened and disappointed, as this was a favorite dish of mine, and I have enjoyed picking up a nibble now and...
Read moreFirst time I came here I was not impressed. I had a meeting that I was early for so I went to look at the menu to get an idea of what I wanted. The woman was not very friendly and when I asked if they had WiFi she said I had to order a drink first. First of all this is a coffee shop, but secondly I was planning on ordering and wanted to wait for the person I was meeting. It was extremely weird and reminded me of the soup nazi from Seinfeld.
“No wifi for you!”
The second time I came they had changed the WiFi process to sending you a code via email. It’s the most obnoxious process and then the code expired and I wasn’t done working.
I got the Chicken Dosa this time and it was very tasty but way overpriced. The atmosphere inside is also very nice and there is a variety of seating options from couches to tables to bar seats.
The reviews about some of the staff being pretentious are accurate. The girl taking my order was lovely but the other girl behind the counter felt like she was hovering over her pointing out everything she was doing wrong. It was awkward and off putting.
I probably won’t go back because it seems like there have been ample opportunities to rectify the issues here and yet they...
Read moreI’ve been to Nurture quite a few times over the last year, and each time it feels like I’m inconveniencing the staff by simply ordering.
I’ve met more dismissive and standoffish employees there than helpful. Recently I was greeted by the barista and who started making small talk, but they were pulled aside by another staff member and hushed them while we were ordering, it was extremely awkward and rude to the barista. The food is fairly decent but quite expensive.
I received a gift card to Nurture and haven’t been able to use it yet because not many providers accept them. The person who got it for me was disappointed because the person who sold it to him said that it can be used for all of the providers in the space, which isn’t true. I’ve made appointments at a few different providers in the space and many of them aren’t able to take the gift card, which was an expensive endeavor.
The energy that the staff gives off drastically puts me off of returning, which is such a bummer because it’s a glorious space to...
