A really unpleasant stay overall. The entire place is deeply dated, and it feels like it's that kind of dirty that has set root over time. So, maybe they cleaned, or maybe they're skimping on the cleaning, but it was dirty in a way that felt permanent regardless.
The staff at check-in were certainly businesslike and relatively efficient, but there was no customer service to speak of. Given the unappealing look of the place, this set a poor tone.
The hallways are as run down as anything. Despite most of the rooms being non-smoking, with signage everywhere to indicate it, the entire place smelled like cigarette smoke.
We were, unfortunately, placed in a smoking room. It wasn't enough to make us gag, but it was a pervasive smell that took a while to get used to. Things like pillows and towels were thankfully not saturated in a smoky smell, but had picked up enough from being in the room that they were unpleasant.
The biggest problem was the room's various disgusting features. Everything cloth felt dirty. The bedspread, the curtains, even the lampshades were all stained. I realized this may be caused by years of exposure to cigarette smoke; they had the look of large, faded coffee stains. Regardless, it all felt unclean. I don't believe it was actually the case, but it gave me the sense of having a layer of grime on my skin the whole time there.
As such, it was difficult to truly relax. I made an effort to keep my possessions all together in one corner, off the floor and on a desk that did not have visible grime. I was able to sleep well in the reasonably comfortable bed, but the bedframe was made of some sort of metal and sounded like an industrial machine if you moved around in the wrong way. And the mattress, I believe a king-size, was actually two mattresses. While this was not a problem itself, the mattresses apparently had no center support, so the bed became V-shaped after the first night, with a distinct slope toward the middle.
On the positive side, the AC unit was very effective and the temperature was consistently comfortable. There are some nice businesses nearby, including numerous food options. And it was no challenge to get a rideshare into the city...
Read moreHousekeeping stole $800 in cash from my room.||||I have been a loyal guest at this hotel for the past year. I have visited Denver 4 times within the past 12 months and have stayed here for 2 weeks at a time, I am very familiar with this hotel.||||I had 800 in cash inside of my purse located in the bottom drawer. I left the room with a smaller purse with my ID and debit card and left the money behind. I had every intention on returning.||||Unfortunately on Friday, January 31st, 2025 I ended up going to jail (I know you're judging me but sh*t happens lol) I extended my reservation for the following day but it wasn't prepaid. I was released 2 days later Sunday, February 2nd and made it back to the hotel @ 8PM.||||When I returned to the hotel they had all my belongings in bags (which I did not mind I understood the room was not paid for). But when I opened my purse the money was gone. Every last dollar.||||This absolutely broke my heart because I have been loyal to this hotel and I always tip the housekeeping girls when they clean my room. I even got one of them a Christmas present. I only mention this to say how much it hurts me because I have always shown my appreciation to the staff and this is how they repay me.||||I was exhausted and needed somewhere to lay my head so I booked a room there with my card and waited for the police. They showed up around 1am to collect a report.||||The next morning I spoke to the manager, who immediately approached me in a hostile manner. I reminded him that I came to him very respectfully I just wanted to know who was in my room and packed my belongings. His exact words were "you are making false accusations", "you have no proof", and "you shouldn't have had money in the room".. like they had a right to steal my money. I was completely shocked I was being treated this way. He informed me that there were 3 housekeepers in the room but to take it up with the police and that if I ever returned to the hotel I would be trespassing.||||I don't believe they had any rights to steal my money and continue to treat me like crap. I was going through a lot and they sure know how to kick you when you're down. I would not recommend...
Read moreThe first thing I noticed when I pulled in was the Tesla parked by the door to make you think someone with money was checking into this run down dirty motel. Turns out, it belongs to someone who works there or owns the hotel. No one was checking in. As you walk to the door, you are greeted with numerous "no visitors" signs. I have never seen anything like that before. If I'm paying for the room, and I want a visitor, it's absolutely none of their business. I had a reservation. I tried to use my husband's card to pay (as I always do and have never had a problem). They refused to let me pay for my room because my name wasn't on the card. The manager came out to talk to me. He was immediately belligerent and talked down to me because I am female. It was embarrassing and very insulting. He threatened to charge me twice for the room even though he wouldn't let us stay in it because i was using my husband's card. He then made a statement that he didn't care if I left a bad review. I asked him if was serious. He gave me an emphatic yes. To keep him from charging us twice for the room, I went onto my phone, opened my banking app, and "lost" the card I was trying to pay with while I was standing at the check-in counter. It is ridiculous that I felt forced to take that step. I left and made sure I put all of the trash I had collected from my vehicle into their trashcan. Sounds silly but it felt good lol. Then I made another reservation at another hotel and checked in with absolutely zero issues. We are frequent travelers and have never had an issue like this happen. I don't know if they treated me the way they did because they're from one of those countries that expect their women to be submissive or what their deal was. Frankly, I dont care. We will never stay at another Super 8 again. I made the reservation on booking.com and also plan to let them know what happened at this hotel. DO NOT STAY AT THIS NASTY, RUN DOWN, SEXIST MOTEL!!!!!!! There are so many other nicer, cheaper, cleaner...
