Visited Washington Park with our 3 kids (7, 5, and 3), and overall it was a good experience! The park is beautiful and well-maintained, but a bit spread out — something to keep in mind if you’ve got multiple young kids.
✅ Walking Track: My wife loved it. Peaceful, safe, and the perfect loop for a relaxing walk while still staying nearby.
✅ Playground: Fun and engaging, but split into different sections. Made it tricky to keep an eye on all three kids at once.
🐿️ Extra Bonus: Our eldest had a blast running around and chasing squirrels — total highlight for him!
👶 Toddler Experience: Our 3-year-old enjoyed wandering but needed closer supervision with how spread out things were.

Strolled and rented a surrey bike to ride around this semi-shaded park which has 2 lakes, 2 fun playgrounds (1 across from the Boathouse/rental shop is for younger kids), flower gardens. This was perfect for a warm-ish day. Btw, single surrey and peddle boats were both $28/hr+tax. They have other rentals available too.
Btw, the Farmers Market on South Peak Street on Sunday is a must if you like checking out local merchants especially for food and produce.

Read moreReally fun and unique park, perfect for people of all ages! There is a lot to do here- many slides, swings, sand pit, climbing structures, volleyball courts. Plenty of green space for picnics or disc golf and lots of places to sit. I love the more ‘natural’ look to this playground.
