The store is not the issue. Please read below.
Hobby Lobby in Deptford has no accommodations for customers who need to carry larger items from the store to their vehicles, prompting customers to come up with their own remedies, which typically means putting ones blinkers on and parking along the fire lane. Such was the case for me yesterday. That resulted in a $90 citation. Shoppers are paying out both ends in this scenario. We give retailers our business while also giving Deptford revenue when paying parking violations. It is not the customer's responsibility to come up with solutions. There either needs to be a loading zone created or employees should wait at the curb with the customer's purchase while the customer retrieves his/her car and pulls around. I think I just came up with some solutions. Here's another one: anyone receiving a parking violation while loading larger items into their car in the fire lane should contact the retailer's corporate office to complain about non-existent loading space in/around the store. To make a bigger impact, upload the parking citation (after obstructing your PII) to the retailer's social media pages. We need to place the onus on businesses to address this issue...
Read moreNormally, I’m not the type to write a review on a place unless I feel I truly need to but this was one of those times. I heard about hobby lobby from my nail school teacher and she said I should check it out to find cute items to decorate nails with. So I decided to check it out. But upon arrival, I was highly disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the store has beautiful items in it and that’s not where my issue is. My issue is the customer service. It was a very poor experience for me. I asked for help to find glitters in the store and the woman just said it’s down there to the right. Now...there’s plenty of aisles in the store and from never being there before I have no idea which aisle she meant. I asked another woman where containers where and she was very unhelpful as well. Coming from someone who has been from the customer service field, I was always told to walk a customer to what they’re asking for and considering how big this store is I felt very unsatisfied with the service and lack of proper help in finding what I was looking for. So with all that being said, again it was a store with nice items but the employees need to be trained better in friendliness and proper helpfulness to customers when...
Read moreWas in today and profiled by the manager who physically stepped in front of me as I was leaving. I brought my backpack in during my visit today (because I rode my bike) and I was not greeted by any staff or helped the entire time I was in the store. I was in looking for supplies and hardware for purse making and unfortunately all of the items they sold were too small for my needs. When leaving the manager stepped in front of me, close enough that I would have tripped over his leg if I continued out the door, and said “you didn’t find anything you liked?” I responded no , however he prodded against, “ well what brought you in?” I said I was looking for purse making supplies, and he responded, “really nothing at all back in jewelry that you could’ve used?” I responded no it’s all too small and won’t work I stepped to the side and continued out the door. THIS IS PROFILING! You want to reduce theft then you help them on the floor or greet them upon entering, not impede me from leaving and insinuate that I took something from jewelry. Stopping me from leaving was completely uncalled for I don’t mind someone customer servicing me but on my way out the door is...
