Other positive reviews must be paid for because I’m regretting giving them a second chance. I can’t even comment on the new food items because we didn’t even stay to try them. So what happened….we gave Red Lobster a second chance because we know that they recently got a new CEO and change the menu items. We were in the area so we said why not. Our first experience at this location made us want to never go back and we should’ve remembered that. First experience was soggy pasta we found out they cook in the beginning of the day and flash cook when you order. It was also bland steak that was well over done when my husband asked for Medium Rare. And once again an extremely long WAIT TIME! A free slice of chocolate cake later and a comped meal we decided to let it be, NOT write a review, and forget it. After this experience I’m over it, these positive reviews must be paid reviews and I’m here to give you my honest review. We were seated around 6:10pm and took the waiter some time to greet us. Mind you we have 2 toddlers with us so it’s always important we get at least drinks in their hands as soon as we can. 6:25pm we get to put our order in and munch on bread in the meantime time. 6:50pm we’re done with our waters, bread is non existent, and our waiter hasn’t checked on us. The kids are ornery and fussing so my husband goes up to find out why our waiter hasn’t even checked on us but we’ve seen other tables get served that arrived at the same time and get properly waited on. Our waiter finally comes around just to tell us the fish my son ordered is out! And ask if we want anything else instead. At that point we’re agitated, because they waited entirely too long to tell us this. Normally restaurants serve children first because it’s not easy for them to sit still for so long, it’s common courtesy for families. So to wait for so long just to find out their out of the dinner item (during the beginning of dinner time might I add) is completely unacceptable. We didn’t even get an update on our actual order. So ultimately we left and it’s so disappointing that I had to leave the restaurant with my kids hungry and frustrated because its past their dinner time and we just waited all this time for NOTHING. Red Lobster nothing has changed you’re still the same disappointment you’ve always been that likes to cut corners on staffing and food quality…but you know the saying you can’t paint lipstick on a pig and...
Read moreMe, my wife, and son just returned from one of the WORST meals we have ever had at a restaurant. After being seated TWICE because the maître d' decided we could not eat at the first table because it was a table for 6 (mind you, the restaurant was almost empty), we sat there for 10 minutes before we were even brought a tray of bread. We asked the waitress for plates and our drinks (soda and water only). 15 minutes later when we still had not even placed our orders, the waitress finally returned with water (no sodas, and no plates). She took our orders and after another 15 minutes I had enough, so I asked the manager for another waitress or waiter to serve us. The first course, a chicken wing appetizer, came out with no dipping sauces. One of the salads were also wrong. When the main course came out, the shrimp were severely over cooked, the grilled scallops were cold, and we received steamed lobster tails where we had ordered wood-grilled. The best food was the bread, and the fastest service came when we were presented out check. $107.00 for three people with no bar tab!
Never again! This Red Lobster has definitely gone down hill. Not even worth the one star. If you want a good meal with pleasant waiters and waitresses that are attentive, STEER CLEAR OF THE RED LOBSTER IN DEPTFORD NJ! ..................... Update. After I posted the reviews and left a message for the Red Lobster corporate, they contacted me less than 24 hours later and sincerely apologized for the poor service and food at the Deptford Red Lobster. They mentioned that there was some training in store for this branch, and they took other steps as well to try and remedy the issues that we had. Although it will be a LONG time before we return to this restaurant, we will not give up on the chain. We are hopeful that this just one bad apple in the bunch, and there are other Red Lobsters within an hour drive of my home that...

We all knew the writing was on the wall. You could see it in the slow disappearance of once-beloved menu items, in the quiet shrinking of the portions, in the hesitant smiles of the staff who know their ship is taking on water. But if there’s one thing Red Lobster has always done well, it’s making you forget, even for a little while, that the world outside exists.
The Deptford location still holds onto that charm. It smells like melted butter and warm biscuits the second you walk in, the kind of scent that triggers memories—family dinners, birthdays, those random nights when nothing but seafood and cheesy biscuits would do. The dining room hums with the same familiar rhythm it always has, even as you wonder how much longer it will last.
And yet, as much as I love this place, I still can’t wrap my head around some of their choices. The Ultimate Fondue—a dish so perfect, so indulgent, that it could turn any skeptic into a believer—is long gone. A casualty of corporate decisions that never seem to consider what the people actually want. But what remains is still worth celebrating. The shrimp? Still buttery, still addictively seasoned. The lobster tails? Tender, sweet, worth every bite. And the biscuits—golden, flaky, the kind of thing you’d fight over if they weren’t bringing more every few minutes.
This place won’t be here forever. We all know it. The Red Lobster empire is flickering like the last embers of a bonfire, and when it finally goes dark, we’ll miss it more than we realize. So go. While you still can. Order the biggest seafood feast they have, stack the biscuit basket high, and raise a glass to the memories. Because one day, sooner than we’d like, Red Lobster will be just that—a memory. And it deserves a...
