Garden Theater — Attraction in Detroit

We were married at the Garden Theater on 10/6/23 and cannot express the gratitude we have for Amy, BJ, and Biko for helping to host our best day yet. Amy is an angel who will guide you through coordination and ANY questions you have, and BJ and Biko are a detail-oriented dream team, executing the event day-of seamlessly. We DIY’d a LOT (this bride got in a little over her head) and this team, with their amazing staff, got their hands dirtier than anyone was expecting and did it with a smile - it was all due to the flexibility and capabilities they had that our day was as beautiful as it was. Their preferred vendor list also made gathering all the necessary pieces incredibly easy, and it was relieving to know all had worked within the space before - and all were excited to return! I was able to set up an outline for the day, and the Garden staff made it happen. Amy was checking in with me in the Bridal Suite all morning, letting me know when vendors were arriving and assuring me all was going well downstairs. Biko worked endlessly to make sure the set up and décor teams were prepared and on track for both the ceremony and reception, and BJ ensured ahead of time that the bride and groom were well taken care of and had never had an empty glass in hand. Every turn, every mile, they did extra - we forgot to create a PowerPoint deck for the TVs and were just going to turn them off, but Amy found my engagement photos on Facebook and created a slideshow the MORNING OF the wedding! Literally the sweetest. You’ll never find a more attentive team. We received SO many compliments from our friends and family about the cool, unique atmosphere of the Garden Theater - not many know about this Detroit treasure! Weeks later, we are still hearing from guests about how they were well-tended to, how beautiful the space was and how they’d like to return - which we definitely plan to do, as we originally found and fell in love with this venue from a charity event we attended years ago and are hoping to bring it back to the Garden for another year. ;)

As a vendor, I recently managed a wedding at The Garden Theater. I arrived at this lovely venue as early as they'd let me in and left in the a.m. the next day, when the Security Guard exited me and helped me load my vehicle. He would not even accept a tip, which I tried to insist he take, and he did not! I truly appreciate old school hospitality, specially these days.

The entire day was seamless from the start, Colbin was there to greet me (he allowed me to call him in the morning on his cell phone so he knew when I was there.) Colbin was like no other. As someone who is kind of obsessed with Customer Service, I feel that I have met a fellow friend in service, customer service :). As I set the room, Colbin was there to help, and was always there, not in a weird way ;), like instinct. Colbin didn't have no in his vocabulary. He was simply SUPER HELPFUL and beyond that he was so NICE, genuinely nice.Other than the amazing wedding, Colbin made my day! When he had to leave, I was really sad cause he was also super fun to be around. When you work long days, this is fuel!

Luckily, the amazing team, including Amy, BJ and Biko were there before the BIG DAY and on the BIG DAY to the very end making the entire experience from booking to execution easy for this couple. They were super flexible on some things that other venues are super strict on and were always there to help with ANYTHING I needed. The beauty paired with old school hospitality (fabulous people) and good vibes made me write the longest review I've ever written, ha!

We got married at the Garden Theater in mid-Sept 2022. Amy, BJ, and the rest of the staff were amazing, and ourselves and our guests very much enjoyed the staff the day of! We chose this venue because of the unique space with an industrial modern and romantic vibe, but fell in love with everything that came with it. Amy was very responsive and answered all our questions promptly, plus she was just as excited for our marriage as we were! I know a lot of our outside vendors also contacted either Amy or BJ and just loved working with them and the rest of the staff. When the big day came, we barely lifted a finger. The entire staff ensured that our day ran smoothly. Even small things, like lightening, were taken care of behind the scenes to make the venue and us shine! We had the ceremony and reception in the main venue space, with the cocktail hour in the foyer and second floor balcony area. All the vendors staff worked together to flip that room in
