Recently opened so facilities are new and pretty nice. Staff was friendly.
3 stars because 1) There’s nowhere to park. You have to pay for street parking or pay for a lot. They don’t validate like other fitness facilities in the area, which is kind of strange to me. 2) the black card lounge is on the second floor and the front desk is on the first. You have to go downstairs to check in to use those perks and go back up. This wouldn’t be a huge issue if you could confirm the perk was actually activated before heading back upstairs. I was there recently, went down and checked in, and when I came back up I was still getting a message to check in with the front desk. I had already done a work out at this point so I didn’t feel like going downstairs again and coming back up, so I ended up just leaving. They should have staff upstairs to help or a way to check in on the app.
Side note, There was a staff member there giving a tour who saw the hydromassage chair wasn’t activated and told me to go back downstairs and check in. I told her I did and it wasn’t working.I feel like she could’ve just unlocked the chair because as I was leaving she let the women she was giving a tour use them so I don’t understand why she just couldn’t do that with me lol but anyway.
Overall pretty good. The parking thing is annoying but I’ll probably just have to come before or after the parking meters start. Those fees add up if...
Read moreI really wanted to like this gym. It’s down the street from my house, and about 15 minutes closer than my regular planet fitness.
My biggest issue: no stretch station. I’m prone to back pain, and I’ve on occasion gone to the gym just to stretch it out. I stretch before and after every workout. They barely even left any open space to do floor stretches.
EDIT: I’m not sure if things were moved around, or there were just less people this time, but there seemed to be more open space, and they have one piece of stretch equipment.
I also spent a good five minutes trying to figure out how to set my own intervals on the treadmill. I never actually figured it out, and now I’ve spent another fifteen minutes trying to find a video online. (Haven’t found the right model yet) The front desk person was a bit sour, so I didn’t bother to ask.
EDIT: after a second attempt, there definitely isn’t a way to set custom intervals outside of just holding down the speed button. The pre-programmed ones kinda suck, so this is a definite drawback for me.
I know others have mentioned it, but paying for parking at the cheap gym kind of defeats the purpose. I’ll give it another chance, but right now I would rather drive 15 minutes out of the way to go to the...
Read morePlease be sure you see this comment if you are rooting for Detroit Pistons. What a joke. It states that this is the official gym for Detroit Pistons. However, the manager and the stuffs there won't let you watch Pistons game while doing cardios.
We communicated with the manager there and all stuffs for switching one TV's channel to Pistons game, but they said based on the policy, we are not allowed to switch channel. The thing is we are not asking for any unpopular channel but official sports channel. Previously, there are several channels for pistons game. After communicating with the manager, the only one channel for Pistons is gone.
If it is a game day, simply don't go to this gym, and stay home watching. Fortunately, the manager told us they had free wifi, and she said you could watch Pistons' game via your phone. Yay!!! That might be her best service and attitude towards customers since they might be worry about you doing 2 hours cardios while watching Pistons game.
Beside this, this gym has pretty much all other PF gyms' equipment, but it is much smaller than other pf gyms.
No free parking unless it is Sunday or after 10 pm.
Thus, you need to add streaming fees if you are Pistons fans and parking fees if you are not...
