Ahh.. Regal, for some reason when the group is picking a theater, regal is the consensus. For me, it's a pretty terrible theater. Saw Alien a few weeks ago. Aspect ratio was wrong, regal was cutting the sides off which was weird. Also the film had a mild pixelation . Not graininess, it's advertised as being in 4K, i imagine they were playing it off a digital copy from a dvd and not a "remastered 4K" anything. Sound leak-through from theater next door was shaking the seats of this theater as well as blocking out the ambient sound of Alien. This completely takes you right out of the movie during any tense scenes and is completely ridiculous for such a new theater. Then its the little things. They took around 5-8 minutes before dimming the lights after Alien started, so the awesome intro was obscured. Then when the movie was over the lights came on full blast and it seems like they dropped the sound of the credits. Obviously a technique to tell the audience "get out." Saw Mad Max Fury road here when it came out: picture was blurry, saw Tron Evolution back in 2010 or whenever it came out and it was dark, like 1/2 light coming out of the projector. It seems like one star was too low because the seats were comfortable. So, I'll give it 2 stars and plead to whoever is reading this: wherever you are coming from, just go to Cinemark, it has always been the far superior theater for the...
Read moreI think the quality of the movies and the theater itself deserve five stars, the seats are very comfortable and it's always clean. Also, I was worried because loud noises hurt my son's ears, but it didn't bother him in the slightest. Moms and Dads, you know what I mean. Don't get me wrong, it's loud enough and the surround sound is put up in such a way that you feel like you're in the movie. HOWEVER, the prices of drinks and popcorn are BEYOND ridiculous. It's only the three of us, and for each of us to get a small drink and small popcorn it cost considerably more than the price of the tickets. Overall, I'd recommend this theater, but make sure you sneak in drinks and snacks (which I'm pretty sure is against the rules) or be prepared to spend your whole paycheck. Or you could just go hungry ; ) Oh, and the guy who takes the tickets, he is always very kind and respectful to us, and especially to my 5 year old son, we love him. His excellent customer service makes the start of our movie experience a pleasant one, and you can see that his kindness is genuine and not just what's expected of his job, which is rare these days. All in all, I highly recommend this theater, and we can just pray that they'll come to their senses and stop...
Read moreI just want to start off by saying that it's impeccably clean. The surround sound was fantastic. The price for the tickets (mind you we bought them offline) weren't very expensive. My main pet peeves are the concession counter prices. I know you pay a lot at concession counter/stands every where you go. These were like next level prices. I'm not going to get into it exactly how much I'll tell you one thing though. You are going to be digging in your wallet pretty tough if you buy anything from this concession counter. Another thing is the seats are way too close together. If you have younger kids in the seat behind you. You will know and be turning around constantly. It's really not their fault. It's because they recline and there isn't enough room for them to recline. So keep this in mind if your planning on going to a premier like we did. You will find out quick what I'm on about. It's not a easy cheap date night anymore. If you want to go to the movies like we did in our day. It's a pricy night out. That's...
