All right. If you are looking at reviews to judge a range, please read this one. You will find 5-6 reviews that are excellent/good out of 50+, that's terrible, but the worst part is, those 5-6 are people work at Ace's and are trying to make it look good.
The range itself is not terrible, it's the worst I've ever been to, but honestly, the range ITSELF, isn't that bad. The staff is young, know the very minimal amount of info, and act very cocky, until you beat them over the head with knowledge. I inquired about a firearm, the guy was telling me specs, ect., which I knew were all wrong because I owned the same gun, then I take a minute to lay some knowledge in his ignorant a$$, all while his buddies behind the counter are laughing and making fun of him in front of 5+ customers at the counter.
Customer service was poor, they just aren't very friendly. It's a gun store, but let's be real, someone wants to buy a gun from jackasses or from someone that's friendly and helpful? Yeah.... The prices are extremely expensive. It's $9 to shoot for an hour, IF YOU USE THEIR AMMO, which is way overpriced for practice ammo. Ace's .40 S&W range ammo is $4 more per box than anywhere else. It adds up.
Other than the staff being unknowledgeably, not interested in helping, cocky, prices being high, the "range master" is sometimes younger than my freshly grown beard. There are a few reviews on here which mention a 14 year old range master, I don't think he's 14, but he's no more than 18, and I know that for a fact. My little brother, which is 16, will run tracks over that kid they have in there at times.
There were two instances in the same day when I saw the kid go to the man on the right, and the man and his wife on the left, and tell them to shoot slower or he was going to throw them out of the range area....???????? One, they were shooting no faster than I was shooting, which was nowhere near rapid firing. Two, throw them out? This kid couldn't lift a 50lb. bag of concrete mix. Three, the only reason he said nothing to me when I proceeded to rapid fire, yes, RAPID FIRE, directly after he told the second person that was because as he walked away from them I was staring at him like, who the hell do you think you are. I rapid fire, emptying my 15 rnd mag in 5-6 seconds and look at him again. He's back next to the wall where he had been watching everyone from.
Overall, if you're still reading this, this place is bad. Like I said, the range itself is not bad....... everything else, and I mean EVERYTHING, is horrible. There is an outdoor range and another indoor range about 20minutes from Ace's, I recommend you try those before ever thinking of...
Read moreThis is the worst shooting range in Miami. I will not tell you not to go, but I will tell you that neither my girlfriend, my friends or I will ever step foot on that place ever again. Here is the reason why.... The employees are Extremely Rude. They charge stupid fees. and the shooting range is really bad. You have dancing targets for like 3 minutes we get there, and the staff is supper rude! Not a hello or a how are you. Nothing. Then they start to ask for my DL and my GF DL and not even a please. They did not disclose the prices or anything. i did not ask as I have been to other places and had never paid more than like $30 to shoot so I assumed it was not gonna be more than that. They told me that I need it to get a membership card that it was valid for a year. At no point they told me please or thank you. They ask me if I had ammo (mind you I bought the ammo 3 days before from them) I said yes the one that you sold me 3 days ago since i was actually dealing with the same guy that sold it to me. So we go shooting and the target line is bad!!!! The target when you take it out to the position it stays dancing for like 3 minutes. So unless you wanna learn how to shoot moving targets you have to wait for the target to stop moving. Mind you i group my shoots in about 2 square inches at 5.5 yards here i was grouping at almost 5 square inches because of the target dancing all the time. So we go to pay and the guy goes its 44.something. I go like I am sorry but can you give me a breakdown of the cost? The kid that is the "SO CALLED MANAGER" tell me that is $15 per person per hour plus targets plus the membership card. I go like but wait how come is 15 per person? and he goes well you brought your own ammo. At that point i though there was a miss-understanding and i tell him that I bought the ammo from them 3 days ago. He told me that you have to buy it the same day so it cost you $10 per person. So to drive the point and for him to understand how stupid the rule is I ask him so if i buy a box of 525 bullets but I only use 200 the next day that i go shoot I have to pay extra for not buying the bullets again. And he said yes. I got my "SUPER MEMBERSHIP card and gave it back to him and told him he can keep it. I would never go...
Read moreFirst time at this location as a first time gun shooter and the environment didn't feel welcoming. Customers were on the rude side. I walked in and no one greets you so I stood near the door waiting behind someone being helped to wait my turn and other customers keep jumping in front of me. There were about five male staff in the store and none of them greeted me. I kept looking at them to get an eye contact and greeting. The boss of the place was young, nice, and helpful. We had a package that includes a 15-minute gun safety orientation but it was more like 5-minutes. The instructor just shows you how you should hold the gun, how to load the gun, wear your eye and ear protections, and that's it. There's no practice; just show you how it's done and than you're on your way which doesn't inspire confidence. We were assigned Lane 2 and the controls to move the target were broken. The people in the next lane were kind enough to help us fix it but eventually a staff had to be called to come fix it. The place looks well-used. It was a Sunday afternoon around 3pm and the place was filled with people. I was so glad I came with a partner that had gun experience so he became my personal instructor on loading the targets, loading the gun, and shooting. After shooting and returning the equipment, the boss told us to wash our hands to clean off the lead from the gun. While waiting for my partner to come out of the bathroom I waited near some check-in kiosks where there was a coffee machine and apparently I was in the way of a male customer who interrupted me in a rude manner. Instead of starting off with "Excuse Me", he just says "Are you going to use those machines?" in an annoyed tone of voice which surprised me because I didn't know I was in the way of someone. Again, more rude customers in this place. Be aware it may be hard to find parking on a rainy day as their larger parking lot is...
