It was just ok. We had a party of three for Panther's Hollow, with two in our party having done many escape rooms before. Without spoiling the room for others, I'll go through some gripes we had.
They tell you that there are no "red herrings" in the room, as in there's nothing to mislead you. If something seems important, it likely is. That being said, there was a book and a handful of props that didn't seem to be useful at all (though we didn't escape so I can't say for sure). This bit I don't mind too much, I actually like some red herrings in escape rooms.
As well, they tell you that you won't need to climb or break anything to complete the room. This was somewhat untrue, as there was a railing of sorts that was unreachable and required things to be thrown.
Another thing, they said that you don't need any outside knowledge to complete the room, though I wasn't familiar with some of the locks and that impeded our ability to progress for a bit. Said lock types did not add any flavor to the room either.
Last bit about the rules and such, when receiving hints and clues on the screen, often the help, which appears as text on a screen, would go off of the screen and leave some of the message unreadable.
On to the room, I think that playing the room back when it was new would have been more fun, as many of the markings on things and little instructions had faded. While I did like some elements of some of the puzzles, overall I was disappointed with the quality/upkeep of the room. The room was alright, though I don't think I'll be coming again, unless a new room comes out that has a promising premise. If you're still looking for an escape room, I would recommend Escape Room Downtown in Canton, the room Bootlegger's Lair...
Read moreWe stayed across the street at Donna’s Cabins for our honeymoon and saw this place as we were driving in. Me and my husband LOVE puzzle rooms, so when we saw it we knew we had to sign up right away. They have two rooms, we ended up doing Panther’s Hollow and it was such a good time. Production quality/immersion was top notch. The riddles are challenging but manageable, and there were quite a few puzzles I’ve never seen before. Cameron, our game master, was great. Sometimes he would talk to us through the hint board just to make us laugh. We ended up beating the room (HECK YEAH) and afterwards Cameron gave us some great suggestions on what else to do in town. I highly recommend it, very...
Read moreOur family (kids age 8, 10, 12) really enjoyed solving the "Panther's Hollow" room, solving one intriguing puzzle after another, it was great working together as a team. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our kids absolutely loved it, they were very involved the entire time. It was a great value for the experience. Having visited multiple escape rooms in big cities like LA, this small town escape room is just a good if not better, for half the cost of what we normally pay for escape rooms. Definitely will be back when they open the...
