I had a wonderful first time trying on wedding dresses at A&Bé! Macy was my consultant and she was so amazing! She listened to everything I had to say, answered all my questions, and pulled WONDERFUL dresses! It was like shopping with a friend, but a friend who knew the boutique like the back of her hand! I could not have had a better time, which was a huge relief because I’ve been really nervous about dress shopping. That being said, there are a few things I think other brides should know about. The website lists sample sizes as being between 8-12. At least from what I tried on, they were definitely closer to the 8 end of that scale. Nothing that couldn’t be worked around for a mid-sized bride, but plus sized brides will probably need to shop elsewhere. Queer brides should know that they were incredibly inclusive, down to using separate names and pronouns for me by myself verses in front of relatives I haven’t yet come out to. Disabled brides should keep in mind that the shop is fairly small - I could see mobility aides being a challenge in the dressing rooms. There’s also no where to sit in the dressing rooms themselves, so if you had a large group with you, you might struggle if you need to take breaks. I do imagine, though, that accommodations could be arranged ahead of time as needed - everyone on staff I worked with was incredibly friendly and just wanted my appointment to go perfectly. And if your group is smaller, there are chairs to sit on outside the dressing rooms. Finally, if you’re looking for something a little more off the beaten path and are on a lower end of the price points they have available, you might struggle somewhat. Macy pulled wonderful gowns for me, but there wasn’t a lot she could offer in terms of color, which was a bit of a bummer. Still I had an incredible experience and feel so much more confident in shopping now, so I went ahead and rated five stars. I think this is an excellent place to shop....
Read moreI really appreciate how thorough the staff is and how it seems like everyone really cares. Throughout my wedding dress process I went to several different shops and A&Be was the only one that actually went above and beyond to ask questions and thoroughly try to understand my vision/vibe/overall dream dress. From my initial very first dress appointment all the way through ordering and pickup, everyone I worked with was so amazing! Very sweet, helpful, patient, and overall just good at listening and giving advice. I also appreciate the multiple different check lists they prepare throughout the process, making sure that several staff members have compared and matched details to ensure nothing could be incorrect or missed. The dress selection and designers they have are also lovely. They don't have A TON of accessories (IE: jewelry, hair pieces, belts, etc) compared to some other shops but personally that did not bother me because I couldn't have looked at all those details at the time anyways. Personally I do think that some bridal shops with a lot of those extra options can also be overwhelming because it seems like they become less focused on helping someone find their dream dress and more so on making money/sales anyway they can. Lastly, they also don't offer alterations, but that definitely wasn't a deal breaker to me either because it's safer/more convenient to find your own anyways.
Final thoughts - I did buy my wedding dressing from them but even if I got a different dress at another shop I would still stand by my opinion that they are a super solid, top tier bridal shop in Minnesota. Especially when it comes to customer satisfaction, staff knowledge/friendliness, and overall...
Read moreI had the most amazing experience finding my dress at A & Be in October 2019. I initially chose to go to A & Be because I knew they carried Hayley Paige. Before booking my appointment, I had my eye on a Hayley Paige dress I knew I wanted to try on. In contacting the salon, Abigail was so helpful in getting the dress they didn't have in-shop added to their Hayley Paige trunk show so I could try it on (it didn't end up being my dress, but I definitely saw other women trying it on, so it was a score for everyone!). I ended up getting paired with Abigail as my stylist when I showed up for my appointment (and she was incredible!) and my mom, aunt, sister-in-law and I had so much fun with Abigail and helping to find my dress. At the start of my appointment, Abigail walked me around the shop to show me each different designer and explained to me the style of dresses that each created. To start the appointment, she had me try on different silhouettes so she could narrow down the style I was looking for. Each time I tried on a new dress, it got closer and closer to my bridal vision. While I went in to my appointment thinking I wanted a princess ballgown, I walked out having falling in love with a gorgeous fit and flare lace gown with a train (talk about unexpected!). The stylists at A&Be have such a great understanding of their inventory and provide such amazing customer service that I would recommend the salon to any bride who wants that "Yes!" moment while finding her dress. Thanks to all the wonderful ladies at A&Be and I can't wait for my dress to arrive in a few months & come back for my next try-on & accessory...
