My friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a delightful feast at a supposed all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant. The menu boasted a plethora of fresh, delectable sushi options. We ordered a wide variety of sushi, devouring everything with gusto, savoring each bite. Everything was going well until we hit the proverbial sushi wall. We were stuffed, and my friend was even feeling a bit queasy. But, hey, a few leftover sushi pieces can't be that big of a deal, right?
As we approached the register, ready to pay and be on our way, the waitress halted us. "I'm sorry, you can't pay until you finish all the food," she said, with a strict tone that would make a drill sergeant proud. We were slightly taken aback. I mean, we did eat a lot—it's an all-you-can-eat sushi place, after all! My friend, already feeling under the weather, and I were more than ready to leave. But no, this restaurant had other plans for us.
With a quick glance at each other, we hatched a desperate plan. We discreetly wrapped the remaining sushi pieces in napkins and headed to the restroom to dispose of them. Problem solved, or so we thought.
Upon our return to the register, the cashier informed us that their manager had been watching us through the security cameras. "You've thrown away the food," he declared with a mix of indignation and triumph, as if he had just caught us in an elaborate heist. "And not just any food—expensive sashimi!"
Now, we were being slapped with a $50 fine for "wasting food." Naturally, we argued that while we did throw away some leftover sushi, it certainly wasn’t the pricey sashimi they claimed. We suggested they review their footage to see exactly what we disposed of. But the manager, with a demeanor colder than a slab of frozen tuna, refused to back down.
At this point, we considered calling the police. Sure, we might have been slightly at fault, but this level of overreaction seemed downright ridiculous. However, realizing we were outmatched in both stubbornness and stomach capacity, we paid the fine and left, fuming.
So, here's a tip: if you ever decide to visit this "sushi paradise," beware! The sushi might be fresh, but so is their approach to squeezing every last penny out of their customers. And remember, in their world, all-you-can-eat apparently means...
Read moreTo preface my review on this place. I've been coming here since their soft opening, even have one of their tote bags they gave out during the soft openings.
We arrived for an early dinner with my two toddlers, which we've done multiple times without issues. Before arriving I stopped at McDonald's for two happy meals so my wife and I could enjoy our meal.
As soon as we got seated I had 3 different servers tell me that outside food was not allowed, I explained to them that we've done this before at the establishment without issues. My 3 year old kids are picky eaters and both have a severe egg allergy, I'm not taking any chances here with their poor English skills on confirming certain food items are egg free.
We decided to eat quickly so we could leave to feed our kids. I placed the two happy meals on the edge of our table out of the way for when we leave, during our meal more servers reminded me that their manager doesn't allow outside food the be eaten, he should have spoken to me personally instead of sending multiple servers. I told them I understand and we had no plans of eating it inside their establishment.
Half hour into our dinner one of my kids starts asking for food so we decided to pay our bill and leave so I could feed him.
Our server proceeds to critique the left over food on our table and tells me I have to finish more before we can leave. 3 peices of sashimi, half an order of soft shell crab, half an order of beef teriyaki that was overly salty and half a tiger roll that didn't taste good were left.
I informed him that my kid is asking for food so I have to go feed him otherwise I would stay and eat more. We almost get into an argument before I told him I need to pay so I can leave because he kept reminding me no outside food was allowed.
The food and service quality has changed since their opening.
I'm always a generous tipper but being reminded multiple time of no outside food allowed, having to argue with the server to pay my bill and being charged a food waste fee left a sour taste in my mouth. First time in a very long time I decided to leave no tip.
$113 for 2 ayce dinner tonight. I'll take my money to different establishments from now on that have no issues if my kids eat...
Read moreMy sister called to make a reservation. They said more than 6 ppl have to reserve online for a table. Oki.. so she went online to reserve for 8 ppl with a deposit. And nowhere on the website or the one who picks up the phone mention 8 ppl count as eat and pay, whoever doesn't pay not count as the PEOPLE. We show up 5 adults. 1 kid at the age of paying 50% ... that counts 6 ppl pay & 2 infants. And they ask to make a deposit. Will refund after we eat. BUT THEN. When we showed up after a long drive to get there the Host/worker there said no refund if we took a table of 8 ppl or refund we don't get a table. He said online did say adults 6 or more to reserve a table & he picked up the phone and said so too ( was a lie) he only asked how many, so my sister counted who needed chairs to sit, so 8 of us. He did not mention only counting who's pay. So if we bring kids that can't eat yet or pay make sure they sit on ur lap or bring ur own chair for them…. IF THEY DO NOT REFUND the infants I understand but not refunding the rest of us is the same as having to pay for seats at the restaurant to eat right !!!! We were they before & many of our friends have been spreading good words for them because we like how the waiter & waitress are nice. About foods !! I don't care much about ( all u can eat sushi )....but this time the service BAD right at the entrance. I WILL NEVER coming back & I make sure my PEOPLE know about this so they do not have to drive far to get this kinda attitude that the host gave to us last night.
To that host have give us the attitude: if u see us on ur camera recorded u will see how our kids NOT make mess or as parent we make sure clean after them IF they even accidentally drop foods on floor & still leave at least 20-30% tips each time and not even eat much. That because we go for the service. Admit ur foods not bad but not too good for us to suck in ur attitude to still stay to eat. I know part of this cause ur restaurant were busy and seeing 3 kids that why you refuse us or u were over booked ppl walk in that waiting at waiting room so thats why you try to turn us away at the time. Btw me and my sis referred the People not many just around 40-50 of our...
