Crate & Barrel are scamsters. BEWARE! We bought dining table and paid $250 for delivery. 2 chairs didnt show up during the delivery, and I called customer service, the guy literally said that I have ordered 2 less chairs and I am just trying to get free chairs from them.....how ridiculous when i am giving them receipt number that shows all the chairs I bought. Later when i asked to get connected to his boss, his boss agreed I was right....but no apologies for being rude and incorrect on delivery.
Then later, when I called C&B for scheduling delivery for these 2 chairs that was on backorder, customer service scheduled the delivery, and charged my credit card on file for another $120 for this additional delivery WITHOUT asking or taking my permission. I called customer service again, and they said that I have to pay that because for every additional trip, I am supposed to pay them. When I confronted about it, the girl on call was not ready to listen at all. She was like my system doesnt allow me to waive it.....now that was getting absurd. She then connected me to her boss, and he started to say the same thing. When I literally yelled at him and told him that I will report this to American Express, he decided to refund the money with heavy heart and no apologies.
First of all salesperson didnt tell me that 2 chairs are on backorder, and if they are going to charge me for shipping twice, it should have been disclosed to me, They CANNOT charge my credit card without my permission. I usually dont check my credit card statements, but somehow this time I did, and was surprised. These scammers at C&B can charge your credit card without your approval.
I am not buying anything else here anymore, esp with my credit card.
RESPONSE TO CRATE & BARREL RESPONSE BELOW: Read the commend from C&B below. Still not apologetic for running my card without my permission and charging me the money that they were not supposed to charge me. This tells HOW BAD their service is....
Read moreI'm not one for the shopping mall experience. My social anxiety tends to surface, I get nervous, my palms get sweaty, and I start talking really fast. It irritates my wife to no end! Despite that, our friends are getting married and they registered at Crate & Barrel, so my wife and I decided to head to the Galleria to check it out.
First off, the store is huge, spacious, and everything is displayed incredibly well. My wife even said, "I don't even like shopping for dishes and I want to buy everything here." We were offered help multiple times which could be a pro or a con depending on who you are. For me and my social anxiety, it's a con, for my wife who is a pro-shopper and knows what she wants, its a plus; it just depends. Printing out the registry took close to 10 minutes for 13 pages, it was nuts. The salesperson nearby apologized and told us that they knew it was slow, they thought it was the printers.
Within a minute of printing off the registry we knew what we wanted and it turned out they didn't have it in the store, a newer model had been released. We asked if it was possible to still get the item on the registry (we didn't want to incur the wrath of the newlyweds). She told us she could order them from the warehouse and send them directly to our friend's house. She didn't even charge us shipping!
Afterwards, as we were leaving, she noticed that my wife was pregnant and began telling us of some places to find cool things for kids which was really cool! The only reason I give it four stars is that I felt a little like everyone just wanted to make a sale and wasn't as concerned about helping us. There was a detectible disappointment when people heard that we were only there to buy something from...
Read moreMy recommendation is just buy little things you can fit in your car..or hire your own movers for in stock items...good luck. I would agree completely with the helpfull staff, they definitely are friendly, as they work via commission. I like the style of their products, and the furniture ( that I have been able to receive) it seems durable. I am handicapped/ disabled and depend on delivery. Crate and Barrel demands a delivery date and gives a 2 hour window. They are always late in my experience. The product you order is rarely available. witch demands another " time window". I would hire a separate company for delivery...but their products are not available.. or cannot be delivered to the store because the order is custom..they make many excuses for the delivery issues, even refund the delivery fee...but I'm still stuck using their delivery service that is ineffective and clumsy. Please just get me my items I paid for. It would be that easy...also watch that you only purchase the upgrades you want. The salespeople are; on commission. I noticed a $300 mattress upgrade in my left side axis sleeper sofa piece that the salesperson demonstrated with complete failure...it was on my order, I didn't notice in 72 hours..I'm billed..I was told I'll have to return the mattress after its delivered. Truly many ineffective policies...my recommendation is just buy little things you can fit in your car..or hire your own movers for in stock items...good luck. Be prepared to wait 3-4 months..empty house, empty excuses, plus more ridiculous steps after...
