Jan. 11th The elevator is fixed, and mgmt has finally made the person stop playing his music so loud. January 10th This is the second time I have reached out through email, it's been over a weak without a response. It's 1:30 in the morning, and I can't sleep because of the thumping noise in my apartment. Another week with only one elevator. When I moved in here 11 years ago it was a vibrant welcoming community. Now, it is definitely not a welcoming or vibrant Community. Being in my '70s and Section 8, the thought of moving is overwhelming.
This is the second message, the first one being ignored. As you refuted my review of Yorktown continental management, you also proved me right by ignoring my request for help. So I ask again, please do something about the constant bass reverberating.through my apartment day and night. I and many other neighbors have spoken to the office about this problem, yet nothing has been done. I haven't had a good night's sleep in months, and my health is suffering. As you doubted my honesty about the bed bug infestation, I have copies dated Jan. 19th, 2021 when I contacted minnesota public housing, because the infestation was so bad. Just last week the furniture was returned to the lobby's, I hope that means that the Is infantation is over.
I just received another notice of failure to recertify. I was recertified on november eighteenth, at ten am, by the very efficien Saul.
Jan 1, Happy New Year. To explain my remark from their response, I had recently sent them an email about the receptionist Saul, who had mocked me when I asked him to talk to a neighbor, who was playing his music all night long. There was no response. This must be the seventh week with only one elevator. The stories go, They had to order the parts from china. They sent the wrong parts. They have to make the parts.
I just read the response from yorktown. Can't stop laughing. Update. DEC. 16TH We now have furniture in the lobby. I have been trying to remember how long it has been without any furniture. It was before the pandemic started that I first reported the bed bug infestation. It seems to me they kept furniture in the lobby for quite a while after that. I waited ten minutes for the elevator today. I took my phone with, sat down on the bench at 9:32, read until I heard the bell ring at 9:42. Needless to say, everyone grows more frustrated and angry by the day. This starts the fifth week with only one elevator.
Update: This coming week will be the fourth week in a 12 story building of 264 apt's with only one elevator.
The first thing you'll notice when arriving, There is no furniture in either lobby. That is because of the bedbug investigation that lasted for years. Although management was aware of it, they didn't care until it became so bad it was costing them too much money. The furniture has never been put back because we still have an infestation. That is the level of care you will receive at yorktown continental. Rhonda, The manager who spent too much money Attempting to rid the building of the bed bug infestation was fired. I was told by management that the pest control company wasn't paid so they didn't finish the job. During the first year of the pandemic the fans in the elevators were not working. The manager at the time, Shelley, locked the only Handicap bathroom on the first floor for her personal use. The list goes on. The elevators go down constantly. Presently we're on the third week with only one elevator working. For the third time this Morning, I spoke to the office about the constant bass thats been reverberating through my apartment day and night for almost a month, only to be met with scorn and derision This is the premier way. Pay your rent on time and don't bother us. We at premiere don't care about you. One more thing, This is no longer an elderly building. This building is open to anyone who wants to live here. Being one of the cheapest places around, that is who it draws. Some of the people here are a little frightening, like my very angry crackhead Neighbor, who fortunately...

SAFETY; Physically safe building with low neighborhood crime although my car was damaged in the parking lot. If you don’t have a car or one that you care about, no worries.
THEFT; Packages are stolen at times within the building. There was also a lot of internal theft in the building, a TV. was stolen off the wall just off the elevators and a physicians scale was also stolen from the building.
DRUGS; The building comes with it’s own drug dealer so if your own Physician is non-cooperative the neighborhood scum, may be able to assist you with your pharmaceutical (street drug) needs. He resides on the 9th floor, n/ e side of the building.
VENTILATION; Major nasty food smells. Frequently the smell of marijuana escapes apartment spaces making daily living a challenge, often the smell of weed came into my apartment space in which case I’ve had to buy candle to cover up the nasty smell.
MANAGEMENT found every way possible to disengage themselves from handling resident issues unless a resident bites another resident. YES, that actually happened! The lower portion of the building was infested with mice, roaches and bed bugs. A resident on the 6th floor told me she found a mouse in her bed one night!! The furniture located in the lobby areas was recently replaced but is often damaged or infested with bed bugs. After this occurred twice the furniture was permanently removed. Apartments with the bugs are sprayed rather than heat treated with heat which just chases the bugs around the building. It is a cheaper way of dealing with the bugs but far less effective.
Individuals interested in looking to move here should seriously consider other options because management is so difficult and unprofessional. It is often a challenge to get repairs made. The majority of the building consists of mentally comprised individuals, smokers who discard their butts everywhere, alcoholics, drug addicts and elderly individuals who can barely care for themselves or keep their pants above their own behinds. The few individuals who care are simply trapped there due to their own economic circumstances.
Make every attempt to find a better place to call home. You will NEVER feel at home in this place and your family will NEVER feel at ease with you living there!
Note to owners, Lying to residents about bedbugs, cockroach, mice and major drug issues being resolved in the building is far from uplifting for remaining residents.
Nice try. You must be under the false impression that because people are poor that they are stupid. Stop feeding them soup and start taking responsibility for your actions in the building rather than just taking their checks without providing them with a clean, safe place to live. Sadly two individuals have plummeted to their deaths from this building. This building is is in in no way uplifting...
Read moreUpdate 8/24/18; Well new management did a bunch of upgrades so real nice but it is no longer a senior living space. They'll let anyone move in now... and I mean anyone. I've seen the police out in the parking lot many times when I go to visit my mom. I hear it is mostly domestic stuff and possibly a little bit of drug or alcohol related stuff which sometimes go hand in hand. In my opinion, if your looking for a place for your older parent I would say look somewhere else. I still think my mom is safe there but I wish she would move. She says, "at my age, why?" I say, "because you have always wanted a balcony!!!"
My 80 year old mother has lived in this apartment complex for well over 10 years and absolutely loves it, however it is in need of some major upgrading (old noon-efficient toilets, old cabinets and kitchen appliances, etc...). Currently, i am very disappointed to hear my mothers apartment thermostat currently is ready 56 degrees and the minimum heat requirement for this time of year is 65 degrees. She had also asked, a few times, to have her a/c unit coveted, to help keep the cold out, and after 4 days it still had not...
