Solid shopping, good variety, friendly serviceâjust the usual busy weekends
đ What Works Well
Great Brand & Product Selection Macyâs at Menlo Park Mall carries a good mix of national brands (Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Leviâs, etc.), cosmetics, accessories, home goods, and furniture. If youâre after something for work or casual wear, or updating your home dĂ©cor, the options are strong.
Convenient Services The store offers multiple departmentsâbeauty & fragrance, formal wear, activewear, kids, homeâand services like repair, alterations, gift registry, and a furniture section. Having Starbucks inside is a nice touch for breaks during shopping.
Helpful Staff Customers often highlight good experiences with associates who are willing to helpâespecially in departments like furniture where selections are bigger and choices more complex. Someone on Yelp said delivery and staff service in the furniture department was âamazing.â
Store Layout The store is reasonably well-organized. You can find menâs, womenâs, kidsâ, and home goods fairly easily. Multiple floors mean space to spread out.
đ What Could Be Better
CrowdsâEspecially on Weekends Like many large department stores in a mall, Macyâs gets very busy on Fridays, Saturdays, and during holiday sales. Sometimes it takes longer to find help or try on items.
Pricing & Sales Pressure Prices are fairly standard for Macyâs, which means items are often midâ to upperârange unless on sale. Also, thereâs the usual push (or reminders) to sign up for Macyâs credit card. Some shoppers donât like that. Employee reviews hint at pressure around sales goals.
Maintenance & Visual Tidiness A few reviewers (especially employees) mention that during busy periods the store gets messyâclothes in fitting rooms, racks needing restocking, some disorganization in high-traffic departments. Might not always look picture perfect.
â Final Thoughts
Macyâs at Menlo Park Mall is a dependable department storeâstrong brand variety, solid customer service, and a good selection of style and home products. If you shop midweek or outside peak hours, youâll probably have a more relaxed experience. Weekends are a bit more crowded and may test your patience, but overall, it delivers value and quality.
Would recommend for wardrobe refreshes, home items, gifts, or shopping when you have some...
Read moreThe manager Tess M. is rude and not suited for customer service first and foremost. I went to this location today with my mother so she can return a shirt from Christmas. Granted it's July; however, we are extremely busy and didn't get around to it until now. The cashier explained it was two weeks past the exchange date so we nicely asked to speak to a manager. The shirt was unworn all the tags were in tact and it was in the original bag. It looked the exactly same as the day I bought it. The manager Tess M. came over and right off the bat she looked as if she didn't want to be bothered. My mother explained the situation and she rudely said it is what it is and there is NOTHING I can do. My mother then explained nicely she doesn't want her money back she just simply wanted to exchange it for another item. She rolled her eyes and again said oh well there's nothing I can do we changed the policy in October 2016. My mother began to explain it was unworn and she just walked away in the middle of the conversation and mumbled a few things under her breath that I couldn't make it out. I found it to be completely unprofessional. I worked in retail management for years and I was taught to never let the customer leave dissatisfied, but apparently Tess M didn't get that memo. I understand rules are in place for a reason but we weren't trying "to get over" on anyone. She just simply wanted to exchange one item for another. I found Tess to be rude and ignorant and talked to us as if we were beneath her. She treated us as if we were a distraction to her. Her body language suggested to me that she didn't want any part of the conversation and the look on her face made it apparent she was aggervated and felt as if we were wasting her time. This is a shame because I have been shopping at this location for years and all the brand representatives were friendly and always went out of their way to smile and help me, but not Tess M. I will never return to this location. I am more dissatisfied with how poorly she treated and spoke to us then the outcome of the situation. A little customer service goes a long way in this business and she lost two loyal customers due to her lack of people and customer...
Read moreI want to make it clear that the 1 star I'm giving them is for the bridal area only. I made a bridal appointment for my sister last week in response to an email i had received about a trunk show at Macys in Edison. We were promptly on time for our 2pm appointment only to be told that they didn't see her in the book. The first person we spoke to kindly asked us to wait to be helped but then another sales person came and asked the same questions again to only ask us to wait on the side to be helped. Again another sales person came and asked if we were sure it was for today then asked if it was for dresses? Stated that she didn't see us in her book. I replied that i had called and made the appointment myself. After all the questioning by most of the staff we were finally attended to by one of the ladies. She asked for the date of the wedding and then in front of all the customers asked what her budget was like. When my sister honestly replied to what she had to spend she was disheartened to hear that the dresses start at $1000.00. I thought it was a trunk show? We had actually spoken to someone at one of the bridal shows about this shop and we were told that there might be dresses to accommodate her budget. What these people didn't know was that she had gone to this appointment with her mother, her sister, and sister in law who had money to cover any excess that she couldn't. I just want to take a moment to thank the staff of Demetrios Bridal at Macys Edison for profiling. We took our business elsewhere and found a beautiful bridal boutique that made the time to see us. Not only did she find the perfect dress but we all bought her the accessories she needed...I love Macys but i would never recommend...
