Would not recommend this facility my son was a patient there and the night nurse supervisor had told my son he couldn’t walk the halls something he had been able to do since he was admitted for the last two weeks with no issues and when the issue turned into a disagreement she called the police of course the police did not do anything because he didn’t do anything wrong the following night my son was talking to his nurse and she came up to the nurses station and when my son asked her for her name she told him no I’m not telling you and covered her name badge with her hand my son asked her for a grievance and she told him he wasn’t getting that either. He then went outside to smoke a cigarette again something he’s been able to do with no issues and she followed him locking the door to the main entrance and told him he couldn’t come back in and I was on the phone with him and actually heard her telling him that and my son told me she was standing in front of the door blocking it.. my sons phone died and he was locked out of the facility my son had no choice but to leave walking so he could get to a phone to call family as we live out of state when we got to the facility we had to call the police to get answers because staff there would not answer the phone and would not answer the door bell because I needed to find out where my son was finally when the police got there the door was of course answered for them and they lied and said my son left ama after they locked him out!!! I picked up my sons property the following morning…who leaves ama with a dead cell phone and lives in another state and leaves there belongings in the room they were in?? I asked the officer if he left ama why would they let him leave with a picc line and he said they told him they removed it when I found my son 3 hours later his picc line was still in place they never removed it! They lied to the police about that just like they lied and said he left ama!! If you’re loved one can talk and voice there concerns they won’t like you there and they lie and will treat you just like that!! When I went to pick up his belongings that morning the doors opened up just fine at 5:30 am I asked his nurse that was there that night why would you let him leave with a picc line and he stated to me he didn’t know he had left or what had happened at the door when he was locked out by the nurse supervisor and I said he’s you’re patient who is under you’re care how could you not know where or what’s going on with you’re patient? You’re patient was locked out of the facility and you just go about you’re business you’re patient was upset and walking towards the exit and you didn’t investigate what was going on??? The nurse told me I’m not gonna stand here and let you lecture me and walked into a patients room. There a bunch of liars and nurses who don’t care about there patients there just there for a paycheck and it shows!! All of this just because he wanted a nurse supervisors name and she refused to tell him so he got treated that way. I’ve worked in healthcare for the past 16 years and this is unacceptable!! Review you’re cameras kindred see how you’re staff really be...
Read moreMy stay here at Kindred Hospital was excellent service from nursing staff hands down the best I loved every single one of the nurses and CNAs here they help me everyday with every sort of problem I had they were right there to help me. From Sandra when I first got here she took care of me right away help me with everything my first steps and then Isabel she was always so kind and sweet, Dio, I really appreciate his time and laughter that you gave and just friendship that he was offering that's just a few of the people that I got to know here. I could name everybody here basically I really really enjoyed everybody helping me out and taking care of my needs I couldn't be happier with the staff here . My PT therapist Olga and Sylvia were a delight to have a therapist always with a smile and always with some kind of joke or one another always to make me feel good and always encouraging if it hadn't been for them I wouldn't have been as strong or been able to take the steps I have been able to to get better. Even the custodial staff was nice and courteous and always asking how my day was having conversations with them as well while they were doing their job always making sure I was in need of something or asking if I had a good day always with a smile. Kitchen staff was amazing everything that they made for all my meals were exquisitely prepare and quite delicious. My dietitian Melissa I had enjoyed all our conversations how about how to eat what to do when I leave just she took time out of her day just to come talk to me about anyting when it comes to my diet I appreciate her with a tremendous respect. And even my case manager Brenda who help with a lot of my needs as far as what I needed here at the hospital and just for when I go home I appreciate everything that she did while I was here and everything she's done for I got home. Then there was Melissa I believe she was from our finance but she was just like somebody who come by and check on me everyday and just talk with me about anything if I needed something or was having a concern about the day or just anything I not needed at all she was there to help me with it it was nice to get answers or just to have somebody to talk to you about everything else total course I talk to everybody and told everybody everything here everybody here treated me like family and I really appreciate that , so all in all this is a great Hospital great staff every single one of them so if you could do have to come here just be no you be treated what the utmost respect and care for like you are at home with...
Read moreMy loved on was transferred on Sept. 21st late evening. Sept 22nd I was made aware she was given a medication that was previously not recommended to give her due to recent medical scenarios. At the time I requested to her attending nurse on shift " myself and family are requesting that no medication orders are to be administered unless conferred with myself or family for any medications and requested another option for pain management. Sept. 24th it is brought to our attention that she was given a sedation that started overnight on Sept 23rd that went until 5am Sept 24th. The attending nurse on Sept 24th confirmed to me there was previously no order put in for that request. He insured me that he would do so as requested after bringing it to his attention. Long story short she started having symptoms within the 48 hour window after stop taking the sedative medication. I had to call 911 today (Sept. 25) to have her transferred back to the traditional hospital after she coded this morning in their care. Also requested to have the nurse to put in for transfer and was informed they would need to check with the physician for that, meanwhile timing is critical for her at this state of condition she is in so I called 911 myself to request the transfer and only to find out they refused to have her transferred after I requested anyway. The most serious point that is relevant is that the medication was administered to her without conferring with myself or any other family member to give consent or able to request other options for treatment of what the medication was for. My love was stable and progressing prior to being administered the sedative medication which put her at serious risk and was NOT emergent, and did not allow the family to advocate on our love one behalf to make a informed decision about her care prior to administering her the sedative medication which had more cons than pros and toxic for her health related. When I arrived today (Sept. 25th) and reiterated the previous request made to staff, the attending physician continued to inform me that he would NOT confer to myself or any family member for consent of medications. Multiple other factors were stated as well that I can elaborate on but I'm sure by the response of my review already you can imagine what else had been stated and not done. This review barely scratches the surface of the events that happened today and further actions will be carried out with the state...
