I’ve been searching for (swimming) facilities to complement my modified RCAF stretching/strengthening/weight loss exercises, and was pleased at how well Marty Robbins Aquatic center meets my needs. I was able to sample with an initial day-use fee ($3), and magnificent manager Victor told me that it is a better deal that if you swim at least 9 days, buy the 30-day pass. ($27regular/$16seniors). After my initial swim in this not-too-crowded indoor pool, I quickly bought the 30-day pass, and have been arriving every morning it’s open during the past month. Even my wife has enjoyed it on the few occasions she has been able to get away. Another great aspect are the life guards; they are all certified and extremely conscientious about their tasks. I always thank them for watching/keeping us safe, but no extended discussions—they do not need to be distracted! Part of their job is to assist more-disabled/wheelchair users with an electrical chair to enter/exit the water. The change room is ready with toilets/sinks/mirrors/bench seating/hooks/foaming soap dispensers/four excellent 1/4-turn showers/no lockers. Adjacent to the womens change room (which I assume is similar to the mens) is a speed suit water removal machine. This is an excellent relatively shallow (no deep end for diving) swimming pool, and certainly has my coveted “iWheel...

Even though there are stations that offer bags to pick up after your pet nobody seems to do it and apparently it's a law that is not enforced. Maintenance worries more about the baseball fields more than any other part of the park, and usually there is a maintenance truck there during the day focused on just the baseball fields or just sitting in the truck doing nothing. Overgrown weeds along fence line of the baseball fields and throughout the west side of the park. The dumpsters are free for anybody to go dump yard waste or whatever bulky items they feel like throwing. Rec center sidewalk is always full of rocks and there's always like two people working in there and nobody can get a broom and sweep the sidewalk. As for the aquatic center, it always seems to be closed to the public cause they always have some sort of school function or therapy or teaching people how to swim. Also that water park isn't going to last very long if they don't put a fence around it during the cold weather months because people have no respect and are going to...
Read moreLived around here my whole life. And the park hasn't gotten any better. The Rec is just a place to make money. Can't even go inside to play or anything. there is always something happening inside the gym. That's what pays the bills, well I thought our tax payers dollars did. It's always always always dark outside. The only time there is light is when the baseball field is being used but once it's done they turn it off. The basketball court outside looks like it was built 30 years ago it's not well kept. Last but not least we have played in grass without light most of my life. And then they built a splash Park which is cool for the little ones. But throughout the winter the lights have been on to that thing and no one uses it. The thing I haven't ever had where I play football light. And it's being...
