The Star Trek ships sure are ghetto, at least their version of it was.
We used to love this chain of escape rooms, but this is the second time with them that a puzzle wasn't reset and they had to physically fix it mid game.
It started out fine, but very quickly we lost our engagement when a drawer with puzzle pieces was already open (It was something we needed to unlock). Unfortunately, it was something that couldn't be ignored as the game master had to physically come in and stop the game to get it back in place. He said if he didn't then we would be stuck again at another point in time.
The real show stopper was some plugs were broken and it made it impossible to do a puzzle. If you plugged two of them in it just fell back out, their solution was to just hold it up at the end and "pretend" it was plugged in XD.
By the end we did finish the room and it wasn't honestly fun. The entire vibe was off and the staff were unfortunately lacking in customer service skills. Nothing was offered to compensate for the broken room or the poor quality experience.
Overall, the room itself wasn't all that cool, the rundown vibes and broken puzzle wasn't easy to ignore.
By the end they had us take a picture and I whispered to my husband "I wish they had a little sign that said 'ghetto' to hold up, because this wasn't it."
We had a good chuckle and thank our lucky stars we're not out too much money. But I would not recommend this place, nor would I return to another one of their locations.
Some training and business feedback would be to offer a discount/refund on games that malfunction or don't get reset properly. Additionally, if a game is broken then it would be best to warn the customer in case they'd like to cancel or move to a functional room.
UPDATE
I just wanted to finalize this post with an updated experience. I was reached out to by someone from this location and they took my concern seriously. They offered a full refund because of my poor experience and since I didn't live in Las Vegas. I think based on the fast responses and how it was handled that this location will be taking the time to fix the things that went wrong in the future. I would still recommend giving it a shot, as it seems they're open to feedback and making it right if they mess...
Read moreI’ve done just about 20 escape room and work at one as well and It was fun! We played the Vegas Hangover one. I would say the puzzles and atmosphere were a 4/5. It was just me and a first time player and they understood just about everything after I explained it so it’s definitely not impossible with jsut two people !
It’s more of a 3.5 for me though because I wasn’t fond of our game master it felt he wasn’t listening as he would put a clue up with practically a step by step clue rather than just nudging us in the right direction especially when he’d send clues for things we already did. (several times this happened) As a game master I get it, it happens sometimes but I felt it just happened a bit too much. I also understand that we weren’t the best so to kinda just push us through. If he was trying to say we were doing the right thing a simple “that’s right!” would’ve been enough rather than giving us the answer.
There was a puzzle that i had explained step by step what i was doing out loud to my sister and he still put up a ate by step clue rather than a small “look here!” when everything else i had said was right. There was also another puzzle that just hadn’t worked well & I asked if that’s how it was supposed to be and the response didn’t match my question . For a Las Vegas themed room I think they could’ve gone a little more above n beyond but i enjoyed the atmosphere there’s fun surprises and overall I had fun.
Objectively, the room is a 4/5, the game master just wasn’t it for my type...
Read moreHello there escape room enthusiasts - most of the staff that work here are nice.
My best friend and I have completed near 100 escape rooms- this location by far is one of the worst.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION.
As you can see - the owner did reach out - I sent an email with a more detailed account (as I feel it is a bit rude to post spoilers). That was the end of the interaction. I have not received a reply.
The Vegas Hangover room specifically- DO NOT BOOK THIS ROOM. There are 2 puzzles in the room that are broken which are key components to progress through the escape room - they MUST BE triggered by an overloaded game master that can't keep up with your progress. This is fairly disappointing since it has the tie to Las Vegas.
We were still able to complete the room with a few minutes spare, despite the broken equipment. When the gamemaster arrived in the room he gave us his condolences for not making it out. We pointed to the clock, he apologized and said he was given the wrong information- We asked our questions- that's when he said "Oh yeah, those are broken." It would have been nice to know the room we were booking essentially was not going to function properly, especially in these key moments of progression.
If you get an urge to go to an escape room while in Las Vegas, there is actually another escapology in a different location (highly recommend this other location), one near the Palm Hotel, and Escape It, and escape the Blair Witch (the scary ones...
