It’s been 5 years since our trip to Italy. Since that time, I have missed the food. In the US, Italian is Americanized and while still very good, it lacks the authenticity that I was missing. We found this place as my husband wanted pizza, but not just grab & go pizza. I wasn’t in the mood for pizza and figured if I was going to get good Italian (a hard ask in my house), then I would find it in Vegas. As we looked, we ran across Milano & the menu immediately peaked my interest. The pizzas described sounded like Italian pizzas instead of the heavily laden American pizzas. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good American Pizza as well as anyone else (another review). Then as I reviewed the menu, I saw the Arancini Di Riso (Italian Beef Rice Balls!). That sealed the deal for me as I have dreamed of these since we left Italy.

Meals can be good, meals can be great and in rare instances, meals can be transformative. This meal went beyond great food. It took me back to our time in Italy & evoked those wonderful memories through a wonderful meal, great service & and welcoming atmosphere. We met the owner, the chef and our server was absolutely amazing.. Everyone we came in contact with, seemed genuinely happy to ensure we had an enjoyable experience. We spent a bit longer over our appetizer & heard our server ask then to slow down our meal to ensure we could eat at our own pace. This is beyond good service, it’s amazing service.

Let’s talk food because this is the heart of why we go out. We want something we can’t or don’t want to make at home. Oh, the food! We started out with the appetizer combo (fried Calamari, Arancini, prosciutto & Mozzarella). This could have been a meal in itself. The Arancini was amazing and flavorful. If you have never had one, do yourself a favor & order them. They are an instant classic. And the mozzarella was amazing. I had forgotten what real mozzarella was like. A light skin on the outside, but creamy & soft on the inside. What a treat! My husband had their Pizza Special which consisted of a hand tossed pizza crust baked in a brick oven with prosciutto, mozzarella, shaved truffles, & these little dough balls (I can’t remember what was in them, sorry). I am here to tell you that the two bites I got (he was not willing to share more than that) was amazing. This was a light flavorful pizza that was absolutely scrumptious. I had their Lamb special which consisted of homemade fettuccini pasta, with mushrooms, sauce & two lamb chops (medium). I make my own pasta, so I was excited to have someone else’s homemade pasta. This dish was absolutely amazing! I didn’t want to eat every bite, but I did because this just made my taste buds sing! I asked our server to recommend a good Italian wine as I don’t have a lot of experience with them. Based on what we told her we liked and on the food we were eating, she recommended the Montecucco which was a beautiful choice & suited us so well. This is a wine I will be searching for as it was well balanced & perfectly fit our meal. Dessert! Of course this girl is not gonna skip dessert. Did I have room for it, no. Did I want it, absolutely! After this amazing meal, I had to have a Cannoli just to top off the evening. They served a platter of 3 cannolis with a handmade shells (thick & crisp). That, along with an espresso capped off what I considered an experience.

We spent 2 hours savoring this meal & I can tell you, this was the best meal we have had in Vegas so far. As we start to become snowbirds, I can see this will be our go to place when in the area. I can’t recommend this...

Tonight we had one of our best restaurant experiences of the year, so I definitely wanted to post about it. We went to a place in Town Square that just opened to the public 6 days ago. It’s a locally owned place that takes deep pride in the quality of their ingredients, the authenticity of their dishes and the outstanding customer service. I can’t express enough how much they went above and beyond on every criteria I would typically use to rate my experience.

What amazed me the most, was that all the dishes below had such excellent flavor without taking the lazy approach of over-buttering or over-salting the dishes.

For starters, we ordered the seafood salad, which was a mix of shrimp, octopus and calamari in a very nice light dressing that perfectly accented the dish, without taking away from the principal ingredients. Quite often we are disappointed in salads that are overwhelmed with the the greens or too much dressing because restaurants are trying to save money. But THIS salad was truly focused on the high-quality seafood.

We also ordered the scallops risotto, which was perfectly prepared. It is actually a traditional dish created by one of the owner’s mother from Milan. The scallops had a nice outer crust while still being soft and delicate in the center. The risotto was naturally creamy because of the perfect execution on its laborious preparation. Excellent all around.

Next was the breaded veal in a mushroom sauce. Again, a perfect execution. The sauce had an incredible creamy mushroom flavor itself accompanied by very tasty porcini mushrooms. Even the side dish of buttered vegetables were perfectly crisp and flavorful.

So - outstanding food and quality for sure. But often for me, it’s the little things that elevate a restaurant to stardom. And this place, went to the moon. When I was unsure about my wine selection, they brought out a sample of wines to taste and decide. They even brought us out several other items for us to try with no charge. The 2 owners each came out to talk with us several times during the evening. We enjoyed their company so much that we requested photos with them to truly memorialize the moment. They were easily the most generous and gracious restaurant hosts we’ve encountered in a long time.

Friends, I know it’s a struggle to start a new business and especially if you are locally run (as opposed to chain). We will most certainly be back to expand on our gastronomical experience at this place and I strongly encourage you all to do the same and support...

Still our ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ITALIAN 😍 I added new photos...

on November 17th, 2024. We celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary by dining at Milano, our favorite Italian restaurant in Las Vegas!

5 stars across the board for the warm attentive service, melt in your mouth food, with delectable treats and drinks in a perfectly cozy atmosphere, to clean wash rooms. ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Our first visit to this phenomenal #Italian restaurant will definitely not be our last. From the moment we walked in without reservations- we received exceptional service!

The ambiance was warm and charming. We appreciated the heat after going to a movie where the AC was blowing. It was a wonderful 64° outside today. AMC must have thought that constituted having the AC on. I digress...

From the smiling kindness of the hostess who seated us promptly to our server, Yinsel, the busmen to the Owner, Laura Migliorini, who came to our table to thank us for coming in and assure that everything was to our liking - the service was Exceptional!

Our drink choices were brought promptly, followed by warm delicious bread with dipping oil/balsamic.

My husband ordered the Red Hot Linguine special and I the Melanzana (Eggplant) Parmigiana. His had a pleasant heat packed with flavor! Mine was the most delectable eggplant I'd ever eaten! It literally melted in my mouth with the thin layers of tender eggplant. With no heavy pasta sides like the American version, I was able to enjoy the entire serving and still have room for dessert!

I tried the Bicerin (coffee and hot chocolate, with homemade Italian cream) 😋 Heavenly❣️ followed by a double expresso and the Tiramisu - the best I'd ever eaten!

My husband had the layered Dolce Della Casa (chocolate layer cake). The rich chocolate cake was also delicious!

We walked away feeling well cared for, pleasingly full, without the usual unpleasent stuffed feeling of some meals having one reach for antacids.

Another visit...hope to return soon!!

There's never enough time to enjoy an authentic Italian meal with outstanding service and phenomenal food, but when we do, our choice will continue to be Laura's Milano Restaurant & Bar!!!!

5 stars from the beautiful town square setting to the stellar service and cuisine. The bathrooms are clean and well stocked, and there's even an elevator for those who may need one to the...
