This was my child's first & last time attending this place! Received a frantic phone call from my daughter informing me to come get her because the police were pepper spraying & tasing people. Called this place to try to find out what was going on. The person on the phone acted clueless and kept saying he had to go. I asked him if it was a fight that could have prompted the police arriving and taking those actions he said no. Called Euclid police after getting off the phone with him sure enough there had been a fight and the massive crowd made the situation worse. I was under the impression it was a teen event. I find a flyer that was sent out advertising the event with two people passed out on the skating floor face down with plastic cups around them. That was an inappropriate advertisement to send out for an event for people underage. Had I would've seen it beforehand she would have never been allowed to attend. The owners know the capacity of this place and should have pre-sold tickets to that event or turned people away when it got too much for them to handle. Clearly they didn't care because all they saw was dollar signs. Common sense safety and everything else went out the window with the people responsible for putting on this event. From what I can tell when I arrived to pick up my daughter they were over their capacity limit. My daughter & the people she was with never made it in the building. I'm glad they were ok and wasn't peppered sprayed or tased. It's sad that things escalated to that level. Management may not be directly responsible for the pepperspraying and tasing, but their lack of planning and failure to keep the crowd at a manageable level was definitely a contributing factor....
Read moreMAY 2024: The family was looking for a nice, laid-back place to skate and stumbled upon this place. We almost passed on it after reading mixed reviews, but we decided to give it a shot. It is a Black owned establishment, and I always try to support them when possible.
PROS: The pricing was decent for a Saturday evening. $7 for person, $3 for skate rental = $30 total for 4 us (one of us did not skate). They accept cash and credit card, and I believe ApplePay. Good music. Upbeat, radio-friendly hip hop and R&B that was perfect for a skate jam. Clean fun in a venue that is accessible to all people, young and old. No fussing or fighting here. Everyone was here to have a good time. I read that there used to be some water leaks in the ceiling, but that was not an issue when I visited. It was raining heavily outside, and there were no leaks or buckets anywhere on the inside. Large skating rink.
CONS: The skates were functional but seriously outdated. The majority of them need to be replaced. However, if they do that, then they would have to increase the prices to cover the cost. I would recommend bringing your own skates, if possible. No skate trainers (usually made of PVC pipes) available. My youngest toddler could not skate unassisted. Arcade is small and not operational. Kids love video games, and the venue would benefit from having some sort of gaming console for people who are taking a break from skating.
SUMMARY: It is a good, safe hangout spot to skate in. I suggest that they update the skates and possibly look into adding a DJ station and refreshment station in the center of the rink, to boost appeal. I'll be back...with...
Read moreIm not sure how to explain. I went almost just to see if the reviews were accurate. This place is deplorable at best. First of all. The skates are dangerous. They pull from one side to the other in an instant. Loose plates and I’m sure the bearings in mine were shot. The floor, not smooth at all. Better off skating on asphalt or gravel. There’s many years of built up dirt, scuffs, and dents that make you feel like your skating on gravel. The carpet surfaces(walls) were almost solid with years uncleaned finger and hand dirt. The ceilings are bad. Like many missing tiles with holes and others are just water stained beyond belief. The bathrooms, just no. There was no organization. No management. No one even to assist people if they fell (employee). The skate desk lost my shoes even though I was pointing directly to where they were... I honestly am not sure how this place is open. Or how a health department hasn’t shut it down. Stay away, unless of course you prefer paying for a staph infection. Euclid, you gotta...
