This play center is located on the second floor of the mall (Valley River Center) in Eugene. The prices have increased recently. It used to be just $5 per kid, but now it’s $7. Adults also have to pay to enter the museum, but I’m not mad about it.
The play areas have expanded a lot since we last visited, proving the company is investing back into their facilities. Gosh, where do I start?
There are SO many play options from building to pretend play and performing arts.
When you walk in, there are giant boats, trains and marbles runs. You can pretend to camp with your kiddo, sail the seas, or conduct a train ride. Theres a whole grocery store setup with a bakery, ice cream store, flower shop, farm and theatre.
My daughter and I crafted ladybugs together near their art center with construction paper.
There are a few benches around for parents to chill and a restroom to use.
The expanded area was so cool! A whole Lego bin with a race track for Lego cars, as well as Lego boards. A magnetic tile table, a gemstone (treasure) table. Theres a quiet library deep into the corner. They have (little tikes) construct-your-own house tools available. The kids just have to take turns using the tools, which can be a challenge.
HOURS of fun. The only downside is getting your child out...
Read moreUpdate: they’ve added on a whole new area! Right past the bear cave there is a new room with Lego cars, a race track to test them out, a cave of wonder with lights, gems and lenses, and they’ve moved over our favorite toy house construction zone as well. They also added a cool mondo set of foam blocks that can make a life sized marble run for the kids to leap off and enjoy. There is a neat wall showing how they design and create new exhibits and it looks like there is a little book nook coming soon too.
Fun to see how they are always mixing things up and adding something new. Definitely something for all ages.
I’m very impressed with the new setup and expansion. The pirate ship is lots of fun and all of the little shops and activities they have created in their new space allow children to explore and play for hours. I’m especially happy that they opened the on-site restroom to families, making hours of play easy for families. Great details, wonderful staff, and a fantastic place to play...
Read moreSuch an awesome spot for kids! I even found enjoyment in it as an adult. Everywhere you turn there is an activity that can be done, and even a craft station! There was this area I just assumed was a small opening, but when going into it there’s an entire side of the museum with Lego’s, building houses with little screwdrivers, geometric shapes with bright tables, a bead area to mix and “build” land, mountains, water, a huge light bright multiple kids can play with, and so much more! Even a little Harry Potter area. This is all just in one corner of the museum also. This museum has so much to offer, for kids of all ages, and they take such good care of it. It’s very very clean, even the bathrooms, and the cool part is they are apart of the museums for all program which means low income individuals receiving say SNAP benefits get in for a small 2.50 per person for up to 6 people. I didn’t know it was inside a mall, but it’s still very large, and really neat. Definitely worth going...
