Sarku Japan — Restaurant in Eugene

I understand that this is a fast food style restaurant and due to product availability and overhead costs, product substitute may be made but the only thing at this restaurant that is remotely japanese is the sauce. During my visit, I noticed that the majority of the employees were hard to understand. Not because they were Japanese, but because they were primarily Hispanic. Which normally would not have been an issue but it appeared that they gave better customer service to those who spoke their language which also leads me to another issue. While looking at they other option like beverages, they again focused on appealing to people of the Hispanic culture. Jaritos, a beverage that I'm almost certain is a Mexican beverage. Chicken teriyaki was mushy and tasteless. I was unable to eat it due to the poor quality. Very disappointing considering it's what they are supposed to be known for. Didn't have any of the drinks I ordered either and just replaced it with water without consent.

Update: I contacted their customer support as requested and had a very poor experience. I'm unsure if I got an automated email or if their customer service is just that impersonal. They expected me to resubmit financial information through email if I wanted a refund which feels unwise and unnecessary considering I purchased this yesterday and my information should still be on file.

I'm not wasting any more money or time with Sarku Japan as they clearly don't respect their customers or their money or time. I hope you have better experiences...

I used to eat here all the time. The food tasted good then, and I assume that it probably still does.

The last time I ate here was in December 2006. It gave me the worst food poisoning I've ever had. They were using the same utensils to handle raw and cooked product, so it was really just a matter of time.

So for the last 14 years, when I find myself in a conversation about food safety, salmonella and the like, I ALWAYS make a point of sharing my last experience there in detail.
