I've only been here three times but every show, be it folk, funk, or rock, has been mixed perfectly. No matter if I am house left in seats, the center pit, or standing house right; their sound techs are consistently masters of their craft.
This large space boasts a full bar house right of the stage that also provides N/A cocktails for those not partaking. Though it seats numerous patrons in rows and cocktail tables, this big venue still fosters an intimate experience with your favorite artists that massive arenas cannot deliver.
We were able to meet with and talk to musical legends like the Wooten Brothers after their closing set, which was a rare opportunity. And when I lost a metal bird skull pendant on the dance floor at the concert, a simple email to the staff to hold it for me after they found it meant I was reunited with my prized possession just two days later.
This place takes care of their artists, as my performer friends can attest, and their staff goes above and beyond for their patrons. They are quickly becoming one of my favorite...
Read moreTerrible experience. Space my intention is that you read this because not only did anyone seem to care at the venue but when I called and left a message on Monday nobody returned the call. Honestly we have been to Space and Thalia several times and like the venues for a concert. The issue last Friday was my wife and I along with 40ish others paid extra for what we believed was seating in front of the stage according to your seating chart. When we got there we soon read that it was just open room with seating pushed to the sides of the room as if we were waiting at the DMV. Once the show start the room filled and you can't even see the stage. Such a dumb setup so we abandon our seats and joined standing room. The show was great as is Expo 76 and Poi always. Just bothered by the extra charge for that seating away from the stage. Additionally once the show ended they shooed us out so quick and closed the bar we were unable to...
Read moreThis quaint venue has powerhouse sound! I was very excited to see The Longest Johns there on March 8th, 2022. The acoustics were wonderful, attributable to the vaulted wood ceiling and semetric SPACE! The table service before the show was great. And we were also visited again by the waiteess during the show. It was nice that the wait staff was not obtrusive. You could also go to the bar for self service. It was off to the side in a separate area from the concert hall but still within a visual angle of the stage. The COVID check in was efficient before the show. The ceiling lights gave off a nice ambience... they looked like the underside of mushroom caps :) There are 5 private restrooms for any gender. We had free public parking across the street. In all, I will be watching for future shows I may want to attend at SPACE as the overall experience was excellent! It was worth the 2+ hour drive for this...
