My wife and I decided to have our wedding at The Oscar Event Center a little over a year before the big day. While we absolutely loved the impressive aesthetics and the formal-but-fun vibe of the space, these aspects aren’t what set OEC apart from the rest of the venues we looked at.
From our first meeting with Dianna, the event planner, we were treated with courtesy, extra-sharp professionalism and an acute knowledge of the space. She was our sole contact until the wedding, and she took the time to work with us individually through a number of meetings to customize and perfect the vision we had for our big day. When we were stumped with how to handle issues, we ended up using her suggestions for a number of choices and couldn’t be happier about it. Most incredibly, her responses to our emails, which were basically just large lists of questions, always came back much faster than we ever expected. We never felt overwhelmed, lost or alone in the planning process – frankly, we are still thrilled to have had such a phenomenal worker and consummate professional help us plan our wedding.
The day of the wedding, our decorations and requests were perfectly executed and the space looked better than we even imagined. Dianna introduced us to the banquet team and manager, who would take care of our food and drinks throughout the night. The OEC banquet and bar crew performed incredibly for the entire evening, without exception. As far as the food itself, our appetizers and our main course were all perfect. (I highly suggest attending one of the tasting evenings that OEC hosts throughout the year – you will not regret it). The entire wedding party, especially my wife and I, received nothing short of white-glove service from the staff throughout the evening, and wanted for absolutely nothing. We weren’t the only ones impressed either – we have received many compliments from our guests about the attentiveness and courtesy of the staff, as well as the five-star quality of the food and drink. And even when we had a few boisterous guests at the bar near the end of the evening, the staff handled them with impressive professionalism and grace.

Read moreMy husband and I are so glad that we booked The Oscar Event Center for our anniversary party. The menu was the main selling point for us because we wanted to offer unique options. We chose the seafood and Asian stations for dinner and everything was delicious. Our guests raved about the food saying it exceeded expectations. Chef Mike does not disappoint.
We like that the OEC sets up and tears down all decorations for you because it was a huge help. We used minimal decorations but felt like it was perfect since the hall is already well decorated. And the whole venue is customizable. It has a large capacity but the setup we chose was perfect for 55 guests. Additionally, with a smaller group we valued the per person food and beverage cost minimum rather than a guest count minimum. All the staff working at our party were incredible too! Shout out to Drew, Madi, Brenda, Lisa, Kathleen, and Gail for keeping things running smoothly.
We initially worked with Josie Fickes when we booked, and she was great. But we ended up lucky enough to have Jan Riordan as our coordinator. She completely understood our vision and was a joy to work with. She was very responsive to questions and made us feel at ease. Her kindness and attention to detail were much appreciated. We cannot give enough thanks to Jan and the whole OEC staff for making our anniversary party...
Read moreI had my wedding ceremony/reception here this year. It was my husband and I's dream location. We had our food tasting, and fell in love. A year flew by and it was time for our wedding, the lady who ran the rehearsal was rude, pushy and did not allow us to customize ANYTHING. I just smiled and nodded, and changed things in private with my wedding party. Note you're only allowed in 4 hours before the ceremony, which means you might wanna find a different place to get ready, OH and make sure you have people to set up because even if there isnt anything the evening before, they wont let you set up with the help of your wedding party Our ceremony flew by, and it was time for the fun!!! Food was fantastic and our guests loved it as well, until our DJ was going to announce to our guests about seconds, of the food MY PARENTS paid for, and Diann* demanded he not announce because they dont "allow" seconds... WHAT? You don't allow us to eat more of the food WE paid for?!!! Absolutely ridiculous. She stated our food goes to a shelter.. Which all in all is fine, but after my guests and wedding party get to eat what they want. The place is beautiful, the Pub area was a hit, but the service provided by this Event Staff member was not great. SO if you're having you reception here, grab two plates, because you can't go...
