Visited this location for a quick visit to make a fairly quick & simple purchase. I was able to easily locate the Hay I needed and proceeded to the register.
The store was fairly busy however there was no line at the register, I approached the counter where one employee was standing while another was working on the computer behind the check out.
I understood there may be something pressing that was being addressed as the check out terminal was being attended to by a staff member not in the typical Australian Outback tan toned uniform shirt, perhaps an I.T support staff or member of management.
I proceeded to stand patiently waiting for any acknowledgment of my presence or simple expression of even the smallest reminiscent of customer service.
The staff member not working on the terminal stepped back, looked at me as clearly I was waiting to be checked out. Still nothing.
I understand that everyone has less than great days and value honoring the individual even if they have a part to play in one of the worst experiences possible at any establishment .
The employee proceeded to put his attention to a clipboard where he was working on something clearly more pressing or important than my simple purchase of Hay.
I continued waiting observing the small critters behind me and fellow shoppers as they interacted with them and took a few moments to appreciate all the little critters that would soon be joining families who I imagined would grow to love and care for them in ways they have yet to know as babies in this fluorescent lit pet store.
After I returned my attention to the staff behind the counter, it became clear I was not going to be greeted, addressed or be acknowledged in any way.
I returned my hay to the shelf from where I found it and left the store to continue with my evening.
This hasnāt been my regularly experienced service at this store as they are typically decent in the customer care experience- greeting and communicating enough to create an average overall experience.
However my experience this evening I share in hopes that the management team or owners reading this would take this teaching opportunity to better prepare their team for whatever circumstances may result in their loyal base receiving consistent service & perhaps to prevent someone working having to deal with the head ache of a Karen had she had been in my position.
Iām sure Iāll be back in the future at some point and anticipated the average service typically offered by the normally pleasant and customer focused staff.
Everyone has less than perfect days & the same goes for entire teams and families within the structure of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI bought my Shiba Inu puppy back in July 2020. Pet insurance, wonderful! Also a LIE!!! For the pet insurance and their guarantee to be valid you MUST follow their instructions to a T or your insurance is invalid. #1 take your puppy to their vet in West Chester within 7 days. I purchased my puppy on Thursday night when they were closing. I called the next day (Friday)to schedule his visit, nope booked for weeks. No problem the vet said, they Petland understands we are busy, we will just schedule for our first available appointment in 3 weeks!!!
2 days later on Sunday, only 3 days after purchasing my puppy he became VERY ILL! I called petland and spoke with the girl who sold me my puppy, she said their vet is open on Sundays. I then called their vet, nope, too many emergencies. I called petland back and spoke the same girl again, she said take my puppy wherever and the "Insurance"will cover this visit since their vet was booked and I wasn't sure if my puppy was going to make it through the night. I took him to a 24/7 animal hospital. He had a severe respiratory infection (KENNEL COUGH). Over $650 later my puppy had fuilds and iv meds along with pills to be given at home.
Monday I sent in all the paperwork to their "insurance", the woman I dealt with there said everything looks good, it can be up to .2months for you to be compensated. I get it fine.
3 months later I call the "insurance " back, spoke to the same woman i dealt with month earlier. She said "looks like they sent u a check for 23.19 and the case is closed." Long story short, this pet insurance only covered the take home meds, AND it was now invalid because I didn't use their vet!!!
Rewind to Friday after my puppy was at the animal hospital, I took him to my vet along with all the petland paperwork. They were disgusting with the records I brought. Shots were given before he was old enough, and just 1 day apart when it should be a month! Also, the employees give the vaccines, not a licensed vet!
I would LOVE someone from Petland respond to ALL THE LIES THEY TOLD ME. I'm sure ur records will show a red Shiba Inu born 5/2/20 purchased in July at closing, sold to me by a young female. If u need any more info to find the sale, respond and I can give you more.
Petland wrongly vaccinate puppy's to get them sold. Sold me a sick puppy and didn't reimburse me for an ER visit after doing exactly what I was told by Petland!!!
I'm waiting for your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place/location and the staff there are just great. You can tell that they truly do care about the animals, unlike other places and locations I've been to. They don't see the animals here (especially the puppies) as a price tag, they see them as a being and an investment. Something that they really want to see thrive, be loved, and be wanted. I stand back and watch the staff, they encourage you to socialize with a puppy, take your time, and see if it's a good fit. They don't rush you either like others I've dealt with in the past and they truly know about the puppies they're caring for. Now people might say, "well that's because they wanna sell them and get rid of them". To you I say this, my wife and I have been in there 12-15 times this year. We will just be out and randomly stop by just to look at the puppies, the birds, rabbits, etc. Every time, and I mean every single time, we've been there we have seen the staff getting atleast 1 of the puppies out themselves. If they're not getting 1 out, they're keeping one out longer because they feel like it didn't have much time out. They hold it, play with it, love on it, and nurture it. They treat it like it's THEIR pet and they don't want to see them in the kennels. My last trip in they got out a beagle puppy and put it in a cubicle, just so it could burn off some hyper energy that it had. I watched 2 staff members go spend time playing with thus puppy and I saw how happy the puppy was to be with them. If you're looking for a life long companion, I seriously encourage you to go to this place and this location first. Don't be afraid to ask questions, don't be afraid that you'll be rushed, and don't get discouraged if you get a puppy out and don't feel like they're the right choice. They don't pressure you to buy and they don't get upset if you feel like you need to see more than 1 dog to make the best decision. If it's not a puppy you're looking for, but a small pet or bird, then go check them out for that as well. EVERY ANIMAL there is taken care of and loved equally. I always encourage adoption over buying but shelters don't always have puppies or puppies of a preferred breed. So again, check here first, you won't be...
