I have a nickel/silver belt buckle with a large turquoise stone that my dad cut the pin down on 50 years ago. I wear a thicker belt than he did and I couldn't keep it buckled no matter what I did. Knowing it would be a difficult repair I took it to Rick Terry first because they are true craftsmen. They said it would be 4-6 weeks to get to it as they had a lot of work already in the cue! I wanted it in 3 weeks if possible so tried several other shops in Knoxville. None of them were willing to take on that type of work and I ended up back at Rick Terry. I discussed a couple of different repair options with one of his people and was quoted a price of $60 to $8 and 4 to 6 weeks with a promise to beat that if they could. Two weeks later another idea came to me and I returned to the store. That day Rick himself was available and we talked some more about the repair along with somebof the tooling and training they were working on. Six weeks after I dropped it off I received a text that it was done so I went in to pick it up. Rick was there again and retrieved it from the back. He took the time to show and explain to me how they did the repair and advised that I watch the turquoise stone closely as the silver soldering that was done required a lot of heat for quite some time. The epoxy seems unaffected for now as the stone is as firmly in place as it was when I dropped it off. He also pointed out a place where the plating was wearing thin. Then he charged me $60. I am thrilled with the work Rick Terry was able to do for me when others were too uncertain to even take it on. The lady in front of me had brought in a mangled, bent up ring and was therebro pick it up. It was beautiful and she was "tickled!" I dubbed Rick to be The Ring Whisperer. Don't waste your time looking anywhere else, just take it Rick Terry Jewelers and wait for them to do their work. It isn't magic and it does take time but you will be...
Read moreThere are not enough words to express my overwhelming appreciation for Rick Terry Jewelry Design.
Recently, my husband experienced a medical crisis related to his newly diagnosed Alzheimer’s with Vascular Dementia. During an emergency hospital visit, he was asked to surrender all his personal belongings—including his wedding ring. These items were inventoried and sealed before he was transferred to another facility.
Upon his discharge, a nurse returned a sealed bag containing his items, including his cell phone and credit cards. But when we got home, my husband realized his wedding ring—an irreplaceable, custom-made piece he had worn for 25 years—was missing.
After thorough investigations at both facilities, we were devastated to learn that the ring was gone, with neither place taking responsibility. My husband was heartbroken. That ring was not just jewelry—it was a symbol of his heart, our love, and the memories of our life together.
Having the exact ring remade seemed out of reach financially, but I was determined to try. That’s when we found Rick Terry Jewelry Design.
We brought in some of my cherished jewelry pieces, hoping to trade them toward the cost of a new ring. What happened next left us speechless.
Not only did they create an exact replica of my husband’s ring—he says it’s even better than the original—but they also returned all my jewelry pieces and refused to charge us a single penny.
In a time when we are losing pieces of the past every day to this disease, Rick Terry Jewelry Design gave us something back—something priceless: a symbol of love, commitment, and memories that cannot be replaced.
“Thank you” will never be enough. From the bottom of our hearts—thank you, Rick Terry...
Read moreFirst off, Rick Terry's has a FABULOUS team!! My significant other and I almost went with a fully online jewelry store, but the entire experience convinced me that, going forward, I want to use Rick Terry's because this was such an awesome experience. Our process first started when we booked a custom ring appointment, but had no idea what to expect from a custom jewelry experience. Blake and Brookie worked as a seamless team and made the process/experience sooo easy for us to follow (even as uneducated customers). We enjoyed learning about jewelry, diamonds, styles, and more from Blake during each session! He walked us through the process step-by-step and I am now convinced everyone should at least drop in to see/discuss what's possible from their custom rings/jewelry they've done in the past and jewelry in their cases. Brookie also corresponded with me through texting (with their store number) to understand which styles I liked/didn't like that helped me pair down the results. We finally ended on a reference photo that would need to built as a custom ring and she was very patient during this LONG process. Needless to say, my significant other and myself were a part of the design process and wouldn't do it any other way if we could do it all over again! :) The custom ring they made is FLAWLESS and it met every expectation and more after we picked the final product up. Thank you so much for the awesome experience and we will for sure be returning customers because of your openness to educating us and working so diligently over 5 months to give us such an awesome, one-of-a-kind ring and experience! Five...
