This farmers market was not at all what I expected. Our public market in Rochester New York has over 300 vending stalls on busiest Saturdays--offering local produce; produce from around the country and world; meats and seafood; eggs and dairy products; ethnic delicacies; prepared and packaged foods; specialty items; general merchandise; and more in three covered outdoor vendor sheds. This downtown market was more like a craft show. There was clothing, jewelry, antiques, baked goods, other homemade food items. The only fruit and veggies was one stand and they were packaged in Ziploc bags mostly. I was really disappointed because I thought it would be a place where I could buy fresh fruit and veggies straight from the farmers. This was not so. I left there and found T & T Farmers Market. There was one stand that was offering blueberries, and another that looked like they were offering stuff from their garden. The rest were all selling items they had made, which was better than reselling things you can order off Amazon like some places, but we were hoping for a more traditional market. Read moreThis Farmer's Market is set-up outside the Transportation Museum on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm (some vendors stay set up longer). It is organized and managed by the City of Fayetteville. There is usually about 20-25 vendors, to include fresh meats, produce and various other homemade food stuff, baked good, fresh flowers and food vendors. There's also artisans and craftsmen with a variety of quality, unique items.
