Went here to eat Thursday night. We have been to the Dive Bar numerous times and the service and food has always been great. Don’t know if it’s because the restaurant is new or what but the service was slow. The waitress was more interested in sitting at a table talking with people. Not all of are food came out and we had to ask about one of our meals and several sauces. Not sure if it was the manager or who but she came out and checked on us and got us everything we needed, great service on her part. The food we got was good except for the brisket sandwich that had a lot of dry, hard brisket in it. 4 of the items we tried to order were unavailable, would have been nice to have been told this when we were seated or waitress got our drink order. Would like to see a better selection of draft beer, especially local beers. Will probably come back in a month or so when they maybe have things running a little smoother.

My beautiful wife and I went out on a lunch date and I have to say this was a nice spot to eat at. Staff were simply amazing and extremely friendly and it didn't seem fake. Plus as a added flair, the wings were small. They were a nice size. I highly recommend this spot. Finding parking was crap. But nevertheless worth the walk through downtown on a beautiful day. Oh yeah of course imma say yes to a food spot where the name its self honors my physique 😁

Trued the loads hot dog, pulled chicken, brisket, garlic-cheese mashed potatoes, green beans, and tots. Every thing was great. I ate all the hotdog toppings before I remembered to take the pic.

My wife and I stopped by Dad Bod District on Hay Street on 10/18/25 for a drink. We had already visited Gaston and since So. Pines Brew was closed we decided to give this place a shot.

We decided to sit outside since the weather was great. I went in and talked to the hostess/server at the podium and asked if I could sit outside, she said yes and handed me a menu. My wife and I sat outside and waited for a server to come take our order.

5 minutes went by and no one came. I made eye contact with the hostess/server at the podium signaling I wanted to order. 10 minutes went by and still nothing. Finally, I figured they didn’t want my business. 12 minutes of sitting there making eye contact with the server inside and no one came to serve us. So we left.

Wish I could have tried the drinks and appetizers, but did not have the chance to.

Also, the outside smelled like a dumpster was nearby, we looked around and saw a trash can from the place next door, but idk if that was the source.

We left disappointed and headed to the truck stop...

Food and service wasn’t good at all last night 10/12/25. I realize they are still new but being out of so much food on a busy weekend (egg rolls, brisket, mac n cheese, green beans and queso), I specifically asked for tots as my side and asked for them NOT to be crispy like in the pictures on FB. When they came out they were still fried hard and crumbled when I put a fork in them to eat. The mashed potatoes had a very gritty texture, looked almost like grits. But the icing on the cake was sending out cold food when there was only 1 other table in the restaurant and the server having an attitude when she over heard me talking to the table how the Dino rib was not even remotely warm. Just an overall bad experience...
