I'm from Fayetteville, but I've not lived in Fayetteville for decades. My only sibling Chris passed away in 2018, and it was a major shock to our whole family. The young man in this image is my son, he is the one who decided our family needed a break from grief, and suggested we all visit Rude coffee shop. And let me teel you something, this is MORE than just a coffee shop. It's an EXPERIENCE. Not only is the service and coffee amazing, the seclusion and outdoor atmosphere and the privacy was the perfect setting for our family to sit around, enjoy coffee, and talk about how much we loved my brother Chris, our memories of him, and how great it was to have him in our lives. We never got to have a service for my brother Chris, and my son knew this would be a good place for us to all sit with privacy and respect to talk and it was exactly what we needed. This is so much more than a coffee shop, this is a place where hearts can be mended and moments can be lifetime memories. If you need to be alone with your thoughts, or need a moment with a loved one, please stop in and check out Rude. As long as you can find a small quiet spot with your coffee, this is a great environment to just let yourself heal, or talk through your feelings with a loved one, or several. Rude Awakening have our family what we didn't even know we needed, and my son knew this coffee shop would be the place for us to take a break. As I've said we had no services for my brother, so seeing my son in front of Rude just triggers memories of a healing loving welcoming environment that our ENTIRE FAMILY needed. The courtyard of this coffee shop helped mend the hearts of people from as far away as Chicago and Florida, we all needed Rude Awakening, don't let the name fool you. If you live in Fayetteville, be respectful and stop in. If you're traveling don't miss this spot, if you skip Ride Awakening as you stop through Fayetteville you're missing one of the best parts of the city. Try their coffees, they are unique and you won't find them anywhere else. To the staff of Rude Awakening, thank you for the healing light you helped shine into our hearts as we healed together as a family in your courtyard. Words aren't enough to express the gratitude.

This place is an absolute gem 💎! Great vibe and charm in spades. I had the pleasure of chatting the owner and found that they opened in downtown Fayetteville in 1999. A courageous undertaking considering this area was quite undesirably seedy and crime infested back then. In fact, this shop was at the forefront of a decades long revitalization of what is now a thriving hub of arts, entertainment, and a plethora of foodie options. I always enjoy the outside seating which provides front row view to experience the sights and sounds of Hay St: a prime spot to chill and people watch (after about 8 pm on weekends you are guaranteed to NOT be bored :-) And yes, they're open to 12 midnight on weekends (10 pm during the week) making it the go-to option for late work/study. This is exceptional since there are are very few coffee shops in all of North Carolina serving these hours. A truly iconic establishment that would be very much worth a visit... Most highly recommended 👍🏾

I came to get some coffee from this very highly recommended Rude Awakening Coffee house. I came with a friend and she has been there before and stated their coffees are amazing. I ordered something for myself and for her and the customer service was terrible. When we first walked in and came to the register the lady did a deep sigh. My friend and I looked at each other and dismissed it. She took our order and was very rude & unfriendly. When we were getting ready to pay I told her my friend has a loyal program with them and she was very rude and her nonverbal spoke louder than words. While we were waiting for our drinks to be prepared a handful of people walked in at one time. They were standing there for about 5 mins. Her demeanor was the same and was rude to the next clients behind us. She said “if you can move the line this way” while she slammed something on the counter. Most definitely an unpleasant experience.

1.0 star rating 6/25/2016 Updated review I am quite miffed after speaking with the manager about the rude behavior one of her employees ( Nathan ) showed one of my prayer group friends .She not only let the rude employee stay his two weeks notice now it has been brought to my attention by our pastor they are posting his photo on Rude awakenings facebook wishing him goodbye and will be missed , This kind of business doesn't care about customers . I must say it is poorly ran employees look like they walked in off the street not professional at all. I am really miffed that the rude young man ( Nathan ) laughed and insulted my friend and nothing was done about it , now posting best wishes to him on facebook. from Rude awakenings facebook page It's Nathan's last day with us, so stop in and show him some love. We're so going to miss him and wish him well as he takes on Landscaping Entrepreneurship

I just spoke with the manager at this establishment , addressed my concern and the treatment our church friend went through . I was planning on gathering the ladies in my prayer group together tonight to see if we should give this establishment another chance but after the manager telling me the boy that had been so rude was leaving anyway that his last day would be the 19th . They did not take action to make this establishment better by firing this rude boy they just overlooked the rude behavior letting him follow through with his notice of leaving. After speaking to 3 ladies in my group about this they said no we do not want to go back to Rude Awakening . Why should we ? Nothing was done but a pat on the back letting him finish out his two weeks. I plan on following through with my plans to call The Fayetteville Observer about this

The prices are reasonable , the old towne setting is appealing . I came in with a couple of my church ladies . The young man that waited on me and my friends was rude and very unfriendly . When he walked away he rolled his eyes . One of my friends went to the power room he and a girl behind the counter laughed at her . She overheard them after she returned she was in tears . One of my friends ask to have our order's to go as myself and the others left to wait outside. I will never return I was in hope's we could make this our ladies meeting place but we will find something else.I plan on writing a review about the rude service in the The Fayetteville Observer . . The employee's clothing looks slept in and smelly . I logged in to leave the name of the rude employee that was rude taking our order and rolled his eyes when he walked away. Nathan Kepler is the childish rude employee that waited on me and my church group . The coffee shop could be a nice place to go but the establishment hires what ever walks in off the street. he and the girl that was behind the counter laughed and made fun of one of the church ladies in my church group . rude no morals and very...

DO NOT GO TO THIS COFFEE SHOP! The owner is a rude pompous idiot. I have never felt so disrespected in my LIFE! Before I entered the coffee shop I bought a breakfast biscuit. I did not think about bringing outside food in there because IT IS A COFFEE SHOP! Anyway, after I ordered my drink I sat down and he literally barks at me that I could not eat outside food in there because this was a restaurant! I was shocked I said but I ordered a drink. He said don't matter you can't eat that in here. I got up and said I will never come here again. Now in my defense I understand the policy, however it is the principle. I mean is basic customer service dead? He could of politely said sorry folks restaurant policy says you can not eat outside food in here. I apologize for any inconvenience. I would of said I am sorry I did not realize. I would have put the food in the car no problem. I wish I could record the tone this man used. I was shocked at his mannerism. As I was about to leave and decided I would not stand for his rude behavior. After all I am a PAYING COSTUMER!. I asked for my money back simply due to the fact I was displeased with the poor service. He refused. Long story short. I can not speak for anyone but myself. But I do not agree with paying to be mistreating. If you ask me he was racist and I felt like he was talking to me like it was 1960. I felt bad for the girls that work there. they seemed really nice. IDK I went to a different coffee shop called the Coffee Scene. I had a very pleasant experience. Go there or Starbucks don't give this jerk your money. The restaurant name fits the...
