I was in town on business and decided to go to the Fayetteville Farmer's Market, which is held on the lawn of the museum, formerly the old train depot. The museum staff was outside handing out fans, snacks, and drinks and inviting folks to take a free tour of the museum. I was glad they were there or I would have missed a really enjoyable experience. In addition to archival photos of the early days of Fayetteville, they also had items donated by the individual featured or by family members, which added a lot more depth to the story. Loved the ability to self guid through all the different sections at our own pace, and the gentleman who was working that day was so kind and patient with answering all my questions! (I'm a history major and had a lot lol) they have an elevator and handicap accessible bathroom which helped too as not only was I 5 months pregnant at the time but I also have a heart condition that would have made taking the stairs a bit difficult.
