It is a beautiful piece of architecture with a haunting past. This piece of history should remain where it is to remind us. This building has no pride, so shall we? - We are intelligent beings, so let's use our unmatched capabilities to learn and accept history, good or bad. The Market House no longer stands for such atrocities but as a reminder of what we are capable of and what we should not strive to be.

This place in mentioned by former slave Sarah Louise Augustus in "My Folks Don't Want Me to Talk About Slavery" by Belinda Humerence. It took me a minute to find the location on the map, as I hadn't realized it was actually still standing. They should absolutely keep this piece of history up for the sake of telling the stories of the souls who went through the atrocities of its' time

Really nice historical spot located in the middle of downtown, at night it is quite a site to see with colorful lights shining on it for everyone to admire. There is even a museum on the 2nd floor to enjoy during certain times, come on by and check it out for yourself.

Market House stands as a historic landmark in Fayetteville, NC, dating back to 1832. Its significance lies not only in its architectural beauty but also in its role as a central hub for commerce and community gatherings. Originally serving as a market space, it later became a town hall and even housed a courthouse. However, its history is marred by controversy, as it was also a site where slaves were sold. Despite this dark chapter, Market House remains a symbol of resilience and heritage, serving as a reminder of Fayetteville's rich past and its ongoing journey towards progress and...
