SOO much fun! Went to the Edgar Allan Poe speakeasy event!! I can't say enough about it. Super entertaining & friendly cast and crew. The drinks? Delicious!!!! I need the recipe for "The Cat's Meow" STAT haha. Poe lovers will be delighted. The creative liberties taken were flawlessly done so that none of the source material was neglected, only improved in a modern way such that the stories held even more resonance. I walked away appreciating even more how much of an agonizing, passionate artist Poe was & how much his sense of the gothic and macabre holds up as beautiful & haunting. They carry indy and international movies (at times with subtitles) that you won't find anywhere else in the area, as well as some more mainstream choices. In the heart of downtown Fayetteville, this theater is a cinematic gem. The second, smaller viewing room upstairs, called the Loge, seats maybe 30 people, and takes the cake for coziness, as it's built on the second floor of this historic building.
