The Stickley cocktail table I purchsed was fully wrapped when I arrived to pick up (Selden's was unable to delivery when I needed). Upon arrival at home, unpacked to find a gouge in the tabletop. So...called, they offered to buff a showroom sample and bring it to me to exchange it out on the subsequent Saturday. I changed tickets whilst overseas, to fly home early to make that appointment happen on our agreed upon delivery date. Arrived home, called to confirm only to hear "oh sorry...our guy got sick, I thought they called you...should have it next week. Excuses consisted of "tried to call but mailbox was full etc,", "didn't have your email" didn't have other tel, etc. No missed calls, no message, no text, no email (despite receiving my invoice via email). Given my two mobile phones, text, whatsapp, messenger, telegram, wechat, 3 email addresses, and traditional USPS mailbox, seems unlikely the claimed attempt was legitimately made. Update: I do appreciate the follow up, of course tbd - if things do get resolved this week. Hopefully they do. Guess 1 can go to 2 pending actual performance. Update 2: Well, the third time was a charm, Selden's went out of their way to correct the issue, and compensate me, much appreciated. I'd still like to have had everything work the first time. Doesn't seem like a stretch to just have an undamaged item the first time, or have the appt kept the 2nd time, but they did try after the initial 2 failures and corrected everything. I think I can give an average score of 3. Thank you,

Mariah (pronounced Mar-“I”)provided the perfect amount of help and guidance while picking out our new living room furniture. She has an eye for design and gave us her professional opinion that helped us to make the sometimes overwhelming design decisions. She was very fun to work with as well. We had been putting off this shopping trip for some time after my husband and I had different design ideas. We actually found a couch we both liked really quickly and the rest really just fell into place with lots of help from Mariah. We honestly thought we were going to just browse Selden’s that day, assuming we again wouldn’t find anything we both liked. We walked out of there after purchasing a couch, oversized chair, ottoman and a swivel glider. (Swivel glider has not been delivered yet) 2 months later: Jeremy & Nate were fantastic, professional furniture delivery men. They took great care with the job and were very personable.

I would never purchase anything from this store again. Had a salesperson who kept running off every time I tried to talk to her I don't know if she was too busy or what but it seemed very odd. I sent pictures of my room and current couch and we double checked the sizing/length we needed. I special ordered a sectional for a very large room during COVID. Now I understand everything is backed up due to COVID however I ordered my couch in October 2020 and was told it would be 6-8 weeks for delivery. That blew by.. then I was told I would have the couch in February, then April. April by and they just kept moving the date and could give no valid information as to when the couch may be delivered. I finally spoke to the manager who was no help- just said he had no idea when it would be here and offered to give me my deposit back and I could pay them when the couch arrived. That didn't make sense as I would just have to pay them again once the couch arrived so again, no solution or information. I waited longer.. the couch finally showed up the middle of July 2021and I scheduled delivery. Once the couch was delivered it was very obvious the extra section I ordered was not there. I called the salesperson right away who informed me she was too busy to talk to me she was with a customer and would call back. No returned call 5 hours later. I then sent her pictures of the sketch with my addition showing on it and the cost and she called me back later to let me know she didn't order that section. She was short and took responsibility however offered no solution other than they could pick the couch up the following Saturday to to return. Very short, very rude. When we arrived at Selden’s we were expecting the same treatment we received from other furniture store employees which was far less than satisfactory. Based on the recommendation of a dear friend, we were hoping that the quality of furniture featured at Selden’s would be much higher than other stores we visited. We were not disappointed. We were looking for several pieces to fill our new home. Happily, when we arrived at Selden’s Chris greeted us with a friendly hello and what seemed to be a genuine commitment to help us find what we needed and what we liked at reasonable prices. We felt relieved right away. To shorten this story, let me just say that when we left the store hours later (Nothing to do with Chris or friendly and helpful manager Larry. We simply had a lot to acquire, and a lot of questions; and they both were very accommodating, informative and thorough.), we were happy with our many purchases and the entire experience, thanks to Chris and Larry. We both felt that we were not just buyers to them. We felt they actually cared about and took pride in the quality they offer in products and service. We found pieces we could not find at other stores with reasonable delivery ETAs even during the current supply chain crisis. We also were impressed with Selden’s delivery staff who were thoughtful about protecting our new home and placing our new pieces exactly where we wanted them. They were professional, polite and friendly. If we ever need additional furniture pieces, we will be returning to Selden’s; No more wasting time and money with other furniture stores. We appreciate Selden’s commitment to customer service that Chris, Larry and the company’s staff personify. We are grateful for their efforts to ensure our satisfaction in making our new home comfortable...

Hello, We have been using Selden's for 10+ years for all our home furnishings needs (not only our main home but vacation homes as well). We have always been very satisfied! However, on our recent purchase, we did run into a bump with delivery of our sofas. They were a challenge to get into our house. It took several attempts until the right team could be found to complete the task. Of course none of us realized this! There are a few people that are/were shinning stars and provided excellent customer care and service. First, Molly in sales was our designer and she was not only good at what she does in design, she also followed us through the entire process from walking in the door to 1st delivery and through the issues. Second, Nick and Christopher Blunt were a positive light in the difficult process of delivery. Christopher and Nick never gave up like some of the other delivery persons did that attempted delivery. They had a positive can do attitude and the team they brought and guided were able to get the job done! Saving the best for last, Kara Peoples in service was absolutely amazing through the whole process!! She provided excellent customer service in a timely manner. Kara we feel went above and beyond to make certain that the issues we had with delivery and repair were taken care of. We are thankful for her willfulness, care, and knowledge. She is definitely the type of person that will create return customers!! To conclude, our family is grateful to these individuals because we do value Selden's and what they have to offer. We did consider after the difficulties (mainly attitude of the team that couldn't deliver) of delivery choosing another home furnishings company.
