The location is great- right across from the beach & the hotel has a nice outside area for sitting- however, it seems there's no one on site if you need something or help with anything. We had the worst time with our TV, as there is a ROKU service that doesn't connect to any service or internet- there's this book in the room that has a list of the channels, but doesn't explain how to get the regular channels at all- I reached out to management for help after discovering no one was on site to help, and the response was 'can I call you back later'- it was around 8 and we just wanted something to watch at night instead of dead silence. One of the maids ended up calling me, telling me she had placed a dinner order down in St. Augustine, but could cancel it to come help- ( I didn't understand, why they just couldn't explain to me what remote to use, and how to get the regular channels over the phone) after hitting almost every button and setting- turning off the wifi and turning back on- I finally got the channels and told the maid not to worry about it. The next day, there was a maid on site, who was so nice and came to our room and she as well, did not know how to get the channels to work but attempted to press the buttons as I had tried previously- finally management called her & figured it out and we got the channels to work so we wouldn't have to listen to dead silence our last night.
I think they just need to add in the book to set the setting to HDI2 and make sure the cable box in the back of the TV is on- that way future guest don't have to go through that frustration while on vacation. The pillows and bed are okay- a bit hard/stiff I thought. All in all, its an okay place to stay- nothing awesome, considering the price, in my opinion its a bit over priced for...
Read moreEDIT: As promised, I am changing my review as my fiance did get his money back. It really is a beautiful place and very well cleaned. I just recommend being very clear about what you want.
So. This place would have 4-5 stars had we not have the issues we are now having with them. My fiance and I stayed there for 2 days in their "suite", which was quite beautiful and clean. On our 2nd evening there, my fiance proposed to me on their beach front balcony thing. HOWEVER. We had to leave and find another place to stay because they were booked for Memorial Day Weekend. Which was fine, and we did. My fiance and the owner (I'm assuming) discussed us coming back for another 5 days in a different room and they discussed pricing. There was no written document as to if we were going to stay or not. There was no agreement. He did not sign anything. They charged his card for the 5 days, refunded him partially and then kept the rest as a "deposit". My fiance did NOT authorize them to pull the money from his card for the 5 days. He did NOT sign anything saying we were for sure staying there after Memorial Day. I can't believe this because they seemed so hospitable and friendly but turns out they're just money hungry. So as I said, it's a nice place to stay, however, watch what you do and say with the owners. This is unacceptable in my eyes. We just want our money back and this review...
Read moreBeing a licensed real estate broker, in the real estate and property management business for years and owning a professional cleaning company-I have very high standards. My family used to live in Flagler Beach, always said we would recommend A1A Ocean Club to family that came into town. We sold our home and left Flagler Beach this past Fall so family never had an opportunity to stay here. My husband, our fur baby and I came to town for the weekend to visit friends. We were pleasantly surprised of the cleanliness, updated furniture and decor and the comfortable and welcoming feeling that we felt upon arrival. From booking our reservation over the phone with Viktoriia and meeting Shontay (housekeeping) there was complete professionalism and a pleasant customer service experience. We already shared our positive experience with locals (for when they have the need for family/friends), we will continue to pass on this information and we look forward to staying during our next trip...
