Not Celiac Safe We stopped by here after seeing them advertise how they have a fully gluten free ramen, super excited. However, they cook the gluten free noodles in the same boiling water as the regular noodles so there is cross contamination and they are unable to cook it separately, so if you are just avoiding gluten as a preference it may work. The grilled pork and chashu are marinated in soy sauce which has gluten so be careful of that, another thing they didn't seem to understand.

The staff is not educated about gluten allergies. The server had to ask someone else for every dish question, even the chef didn't understand at first. They seem to only know that the broth is plant based, that's it. There wasn't much service either in general and there was only 3 tables including us being served. Even the table next to us had an issue when they requested an adjustment with a dish that they messed up on. In general they don't really seem to understand dietary restrictions at all.

The food - the ramen was fine. The broth was good and the chilli paste added spice. I prefer chewy noodles, the noodles here tend to be quite firm. Overall, it's fine, I've had better ramen and worse ramen. The gyoza was fine, not spicy at all though. It just sucked that my husband with celiacs couldn't eat anything after being lured in with the ads about a fully...

My boyfriend and I went here the other day for a late Valentine's dinner. We both have been wanting to try this place since we heard they were opening a location in Folsom. The last time we had Rakkan Ramen was a year back at the LA location, which the waiting line over there was incredibly long. We were a bit worry because we got to the place 30 minutes before their closing time but they were still very welcoming. The interior of the restaurant was clean and modern looking. It had a nice vibe to it. We ordered the amber and spicy quartz combination with chicken karaage and gyoza. The broth for the ramen was very good and flavorful as expected. The noodles are the thin type which is my boyfriend's favorite. The chicken karaage and gyoza were also good. They only had one cocktail which was a yuzu cocktail and it was really good. I prefer sweet type of cocktails and this one hit the spot. The appearance is quite plain for the drink but the drink was delicious. The service was also very good. Our server was very attentive and refilled my boyfriend's glass of water a few times. This would be my other favorite spot for ramen aside from Fukumi in the Sacramento area. Just a heads up, the location is a bit hidden by a pillar when driving through the lot. Another thing to note is that this place offers vegan options and their broth is...

Took my daughter for lunch and had a less than enjoyable experience; when we recieved our water cups, my glass had a lipstick smear still around the rim.. no biggie.. sometimes they don’t come off in the wash - I tried to see if it was indeed just a stain, and no, the lipstick smeared with my finger. Gross.

Ordered the spicy garnet ramen and cucumbers for an appetizer. Received the ramen first and the cucumbers about 15 minutes later and looked nothing like the picture on the menu lol (I had assumed they forgot about it since it had taken so long after our main entree to come). The spicy garnet was not spicy at all.. which was disappointing.

My daughter got the kids ramen which she said was good, but the chicken she received as a side for the kids meal was so dried out and over fried it took her a good five minutes to chew thoroughly. It was so tough annd chewy I was encouraging her to spit it out because I was afraid she was going to choke. The chicken and fries also came out about twenty minutes after she had the ramen served.

Service was decent and the restaurant is really cute but it was just overall a...

Dropped by on a weekday during lunch hours. I ordered their "Amber" ramen, which is their name for soy sauce or "shoyu" ramen. It ended up being ~$20 It was delicious! It was really well seasoned, the chashu pork was broiled, the noodles were thin and cooked well, the bamboo shoots were tender, and the garlic bits were a nice boost of flavor. One surprise was the egg topping - I assumed it would have been a half-boiled runny egg, but it was fully boiled. But, in the end, that hardly mattered because it still tasted good. They also have chili oil or "rayu" oil on the table - allowed for the changing of the flavor profile. The inside decor is nice, everything was clean, the dinnerware was charming - nice atmosphere for a meal. I've eaten a good amount of ramen in and around the Sacramento area and I have to say, that this shop has to be one of the top shops. My only real gripe is that the price is sort of high, but in this economy (04/2024), eating out anywhere is going to make a hole in your wallet. 5 out of 5 chashu pork slices, will visit again if craving ramen (and in the Folsom area).
