Yesterday, I physically went into Berlian and attempted to purchase a 14k yellow gold chain 24-26 inches. It was a miserable experience! The woman who showed me their chains did not even know the difference between franco, box, round box, etc. They had very limited inventory in the length I desired. When I did find something I wanted to buy, she was reluctant to discuss the actual weight of the chain in relationship to pricing. She went behind a counter to weigh it, and then got defensive when I asked how much it weighed and their price per gram. I found the whole experience quite odd, especially given the price she quoted for the chain was more than $80 per gram. She insisted the higher price was because of the outstanding craftsmanship. When I mentioned I found pricing online much more reasonable ($50-55 per gram), she insisted that it wasn't solid gold at that price, and it had to be gold plated or inferior gold chain. She then acted insulted and began rolling up chain bundle to put back in the safe. Needless to say, I left. I went home and bought two chains made in Italy from Sarraf for $675 and a total of 13.5 grams of 14k solid gold. I will not be going back and will find another local jeweler to help with custom creations...

My wife had her grandfather's wedding band altered here in order to give it to me on our wedding day. She was very pleased with their work and reasonable fees.

This is also a good place to get your watch battery replaced. They charge far more reasonable fees than most jewelers do (keeping in mind that the batteries themselves only cost $1, so when your jeweler is charging you $15 for the service, they are robbing you blind).

Lastly, yesterday, when I was speaking with a jeweler salesman at another shop about some work that I needed done on my wife's engagement ring setting, lo and behold, the jeweler actually referred me to Berilian!
