The older short female caucasian associate with the chunks of green hair was rude to me. When I entered the store, her nor the other associate that she was up in the front talking to by the door greeted me. When I found the product that I wanted a sample of, I walked up front by the door and asked her to give me a sample, and she appeared to be flustered by the request. When I was trying to tell her that I was looking for a sunscreen that wouldn't leave a white cast and that would have a clear finish, she was walking away from me as I was trying to explain that to her. I felt as though she didn't want to be bothered and that my request for a sample of the sunscreen was an issue for her. After she gave me the samples I requested, I was still looking around the store and I found that she was continuously coming onto the aisles that I was on and peering at me, even though the store was bustling with other customers. At this point I didn't want to bother her anymore and have her bad energy touching anything that was going to be on my body, so I asked one of the other young ladies for a sample of a another sunscreen that I found had a clear application, and the same green haired associate came from the front of the store to where I was, to tell the young lady that was helping me, that I'm only supposed to get three samples. I said well, if I was only supposed to get three samples, then why didn't you tell me that when you gave me the first or third sample?? How are customers supposed to know unless associates make the rules clear?? The young lady that was helping me, apparently, didn't even know, and that was evident because she looked very surprised at what the green haired lady was saying about the three samples. So, if the rule is that you only get three samples per visit, then that needs to be posted in the store or the associate giving the sample(s) needs to make it clear. I rarely shop at Sephora, and after this visit, I'll take my money elsewhere. I'll take my money someplace where I won't be followed around the store by an associate with a discriminatory mindset, a chip on their shoulder and that never wanted to help me in the first place. Please hire better people Sephora. UPDATE 7/23/24 I WENT INTO THE STORE AGAIN TODAY TO SEE IF THEY HAD A DANESSA MYRICKS SHADE IN STOCK, AND I LEARNED THAT THE GREEN-HAIRED FEMALE'S NAME IS LISA AND THAT SHE IS A MANAGER. SHE EXHIBITED SIMILAR BEHAVIOR ON TODAY AS WELL. CONSTANTLY WALKING UP BEHIND ME AND PAST ME & THE ASSOCIATE THAT WAS HELPING ME IN THE MAKEUP AREA, WHILE THERE WERE A PLETHORA OF OTHER CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE. BUT WHEN I WALKED INTO THE STORE, SHE WAS UP FRONT TALKING TO ANOTHER ASSOCIATE AND NOT WALKING AROUND AT ALL. I ALSO NOTICED WHEN I LEFT THE STORE NEXT DOOR, SHE WAS STATIONED UP FRONT AGAIN. SHE FOLLOWED ME AROUND THE STORE IN A DISCRIMINATORY MANNER, AND I'LL BE TAKING MY COMPLAINT EVEN FURTHER, TO THE...
Read moreI'd recommend this storefront any day over the locations in Sandhills and Columbiana.
Since it's a smaller storefront, it naturally doesn't have as large of a stock, but the ambiance is quite nice and it doesn't feel as congested. They have the products I need and let me know when to expect fresh shipments when they don't.
Seeing the negative reviews on the staff, I think some are just a matter of preference. I like that the staff gives me space to explore— yet they remain very attentive to cues when someone does need their help. While they may not give an immediate greeting, they do acknowledge you within the first minute of you being in the store (again, attentive).
They each have their own personalities and ways of interacting with customers, and while some styles may rub folks the wrong way (again, preference), they are always helpful, professional, and efficient.
If you're looking to have an experience where you can explore at leisure, make small talk (or decisions) with someone in the same section, or need a quick reco/pickup, this is the best location.
Note: Parking sucks, but the plaza is really lovely to walk and...
Read moreWORST SEPHORA EVER! I shop at Sephora all the time and in multiple cities and one thing I can say is consistent is their amazing customer service and willing to help get products. I have been in this Sephora 4 separate times to purchase something, first 3 times no hello at the door and no one helped me or tried to help for 15 min. Today I go in and yes I understand they are busy but you have 5 associates, one is at the door and can’t leave, 2 are doing inventory and one is at the register and can not leave. Please make that make sense! I have worked years in retail and can tell it’s poor time management. Every customer is wandering around having no help or any clue what’s going on. This is the 4th time I have left without purchasing something because I refuse to help that location increase any sales metrics. GET IT TOGETHER! I will just have to purchase online or most likely I will go to ulta and purchase something for my 4th time since this location never helps...
